This is a prime example of THE SLOW VIOLENCE OF THE STATE. People will die (or live shorter lives) because of a deliberate decision by the Government. If all of those people died at once, there would be outrage over the mass murder.

If Freeview is closed, it’s the poorest and the older members of the population, with least access to the internet who will lose out.

The Zone They Didn’t Tell You About How a 616-acre corporate enclave was quietly built in Somerset, and why the Guardian’s coverage of the Agratas gigafactory grant tells only half the story

Another huge piece of UK land, any meaningful public control and the revenue it should generate, lost to us, for the next 25 years. Moreover, there was absolutely no public debate or consultation.

This is an absolute scandal.

The SLOW VIOLENCE OF THE STATE, allows politicians to support policies which lead directly and often knowingly, to the early deaths of large numbers of people. Enacted in a single incident, those deaths would provoke claims of mass murder and drive revolution. They are no less evil.

If we had decent journalists, we'd have decent politicians and a better world to hand over to our children

Instead we have Joe Biden, Donald Trump and Keir Starmer. Some of the worst piece of shit walking the earth unchallenged by the 4th Estate

It’s also impossible to change your mind, when you are working under the direction of those who have bought and paid for you; whether foreign countries, special interest groups, or your super rich supporters.

Elaine's Big Hike Not long ago, I was struggling just to heal—now I’m taking on a half marathon hike.” This is more than a hike—it’s proof of how far I’ve come.” A year ago, my world changed in an instant—but today, ...

Elaine is a really good egg and this is a great cause. Please give, if you are able to.

Palantir, the controversial U.S. company working with ICE and the Israeli military, has access to our private data via NHS databases. We need the Government to trigger the break clause on their contract NOW. 🚨Can you sign and share?

I call it THE SLOW VIOLENCE OF THE STATE. When tens of thousands of people die, because of austerity, the majority of the population will ignore it. If the tens of thousands died in one event, there would be outrage. It’s also easier to ignore because the victims are largely the poor and powerless.

I bet Jenny was constantly begging him to get shot of it. He was probably dragging a Sunday lunch around in it. Who’d want to kiss that?

UK energy prices are soaring – and propagandists want to sell you a false reason why | George Monbiot The war on Iran has put fossil-fuel prices centre stage, but don’t believe those who tout ‘maximising the North Sea’ as our salvation, says Guardian columnist George Monbiot

George Monbiot explains, in words almost simple and clear enough for a Reform Party member to understand, just why we are all being screwed by the fossil fuel lobby and just why North Sea gas drilling won’t fix things.

An oldie, but still a goody.

Yet again, Starmer shows just how much he’s in the pocket of the Zionists and just how subservient and servile he is to Trump.

A win for decency and a candidate who actually cares about people and our planet, rather than lining the ever deepening pockets of the super rich.

I worked with a very creepy guy who had the awful habit of scrawping away at his groin and then surreptitiously, (or so he thought), sliding his hand under his nose. His work nickname was Scratch ‘n’ Sniff.

Your Labour government kept the two-child benefit cap in place for 20 months, pushing 65,000 more children into avoidable poverty and suspended MPs who voted to scrap it.

Spare us the self-congratulation. Pathetic.
