This is next level frustrating
1 - apply for DYCP funding from Arts Council
2 - get email that a decision letter awaits but you have to log in to Grantium
3 - try to log in to Grantium and it's not available and hasn't been all afternoon

I'm unlikely to get the money but I'd like to know!

After the in conversation event with Irene Fubara-Manuel and Kinnari Saraiya accompanying her exhibition In the Eye of a Dream - the three of us came up with a reading list on the reading of colonial archives, race and technology, video games and a lot more - lots to dig into!

What are you doing this sunny Sunday if you aren’t running the Brighton Marathon? Bet you’re not doing experiments on the best way to age paper with tea… #process #exhibitionplanning

I love a studio visit and I had a great one last week with Laura White, ahead of an exhibition at Phoenix Art Space in autumn

We talked about the process of making, the joy of pushing materials to their limits and how enjoy and utilise what happens when they fail

The second part of RH Lossin's writing on AI art and hegemony is so good - if AI and art and in particular how it's being applied to anti-racist, anti-colonialist endeavours is a subject that interests you then it is well worth your time

Two posters for exhibitions side by side. On the left is a poster for Home to My Teenage Bedroom by Grant Foster, it shows a painting of two characters, a black man and a woman who are off to one side against an abstract background of yellows, greens and white. On the right is a poster for an exhibition by David Harkins called Crosswinds and Elemental Dubs. It features a black outline of the head of what seems to be a cat. Inside the outline and around it the painting is predominantly blue in may shades

Great posters (with annoying reflections) for two really strong shows at Phoenix Art Space opening this Friday 28 Feb, 6-8pm: Home to My Teenage Bedroom by @foster_grant

+ Crosswinds and Elemental Dubs by David Harkins, a studio member will be in the Window Gallery

Come along - all are welcome

Stop fucking saying he blamed “DEI,” which is some abstract, non-tangible idea. He is blaming people of color having jobs he thinks they aren’t qualified for. He’s blaming race. He’s being racist every time he says it. Journalists need to get fucking backbones, my word.

AI: The New Aesthetics of Fascism It's embarrassing, destructive, and looks like shit: AI-generated art is the perfect aesthetic form for the far right.

Interesting read and it's hard to disagree with the basics of his argument

h/t to whoever posted this yesterday

Bit embarrassing though that the New Socialist are still encouraging people to Tweet - not a good look

Good to be at the launch of Brighton Festival last night, catching up with a lot of folk I haven’t seen in a while - also great to get a festival highlight nod for the show I’m curating at Phoenix Art Space with the work of the amazing Kinnari Saraiya

A grey winter’s day visit to Hastings Contemporary for the Immortal Apples, Eternal Eggs exhibition exploring the practice of still life. Work pictured is a section of Cathie Pilkington’s funny, sad and uncanny Singerie. The show is definitely worth a visit if you’re able to

How to support individuals with autoimmune conditions | Unlimited One in ten people in the UK have an autoimmune condition. We’re sharing our top tips for how to support staff.

I was so pleased to see this guide from @weareunlimited.bsky.social appear recently. Ive spent 20 years of my life explaining and re-explaining (often badly!) how my illness affects me, so this is a big help that can be shared to orgs and workplaces: weareunlimited.org.uk/resource/how...

Enjoyable visit to London Art Fair today. Enjoyed talking to a few people and seeing A LOT of work - highlights from Abigail Norris not pictured because I was too busy chatting and Antonio Sergio Moreira on the Ricardo Fernandes stand.
