Released a massive update of my coffee timer app, Single Origin.

I wanted to brew the roaster-created recipes available on the Fellow Aiden & xBloom, so I built an app that guides you through every pour, agitation, etc.

Since it's built with Expo, it runs on iOS, WatchOS, Android, & Web. 👇

I rebuilt my pour-over coffee app recently. AI wrote most of the code (but with my handwritten code from a previous version as context).

This is 🔥

My process: make a coffee, set a 25 min timer, put on a coding music playlist, and write down a goal.

Would love to hear what you think of Expo when you try it!

My hunch is that mobile apps will only become more open/accessible, and it seems like RN being React is poised to be the default as apps become more like sites on the web.

With RN, we can dynamically load JS, we can breakout of the SPA-by-default patterns of traditional mobile dev, and maybe one day we’ll be able to search across and inside apps.

The web is an incredible distribution platform. You can easily share URLs that deep link into sites. You can even search across every site on the web. Mobile apps are behind on distribution. It seems like super apps are trying to solve this. They’re essentially browsers.

This is correct 👍

This reminds me of lava lamps. Such a cool effect!

Agree. The three finger long press is far superior!

I love the design!

You could build the website with expo too. One codebase to rule them all 😇

We're keeping a close eye on queue times to make sure it's consistently better. It's really important to us that building your app on Expo is a nice experience, especially when you're working on a passion project.

The iOS queue times for Free plan users on @expo.dev were around 4 hours at this time last week.

We increased our Mac capacity today. We're seeing <10 min queue times right now. ⚡

Subscribers are seeing 0 min queue times.

I added some error tracking and haven’t been able to see where it happens. I’ve also deleted and reinstalled the app many times and can’t reproduce it. Any ideas on what I can try to make it happen? I assume you deleted/reinstalled? Would love to track it down.

bolt.new Prompt, run, edit & deploy web apps

You might try bolt.new and use Expo. There’s no native build configuration to deal with and you can still use native code. Might help with Xcode builds failing/a tough debugging experience.

Would be interested to see if you have more luck!

I would try removing styles from that text input and then adding a View around it to style it with your own look.

What’s your app? Would be interesting to see the before and after.

This is some real power. I just merged to `main` and my changes deployed to Android, iOS, and the web in ~4min total.
