Like so much so much else in our world, it's trading an immediate gain for a working future.
Some will say that's acceptable b/c "LLMs will only get better" but I think that's provably false. They can be tuned for tasks, but the gains we've seen so far are capped.

The obvious problem here is that it lets novices produce stuff that's pretty okay most of the time, but they won't be able to learn what works and will never become an expert in their field.
In the hands of an expert in a field, the LLM can help them work faster. Both because they ask better questions and because they have a better framework to sort out the bullshit that *must* come with an LLM.
A novice was trying to fix a broken Lisp machine by turning the power off and on.
Knight, seeing what the student was doing, spoke sternly: “You cannot fix a machine by just power-cycling it with no understanding of what is going wrong.”
Knight turned the machine off and on.
The machine worked.
Modern use of LLMs, has me thinking of this story from the jargon file

disappointing. bluesky is working for me.
What happened to me?
I live in Dublin OH, and a few years ago, I moved 1 mile, and in the process went from one district, through another and then into another one.
Really miss the days when the big political scandal was about the vice president mispelling a word.
Me in a superhero pose wearing a shirt that has rabbits counting to PI with a funny fox at the end eating .14 of a rabbit.

ah, one of the two classic problems in computer science: Naming things, cache invalidation and fence-post errors ;)
Well paid white guys thing that they are well paid b/c they are smart, not that they are white. And since they are smart and can't think of anything that can go wrong, ergo, nothing can.
Oh what am I talking about? They never thought in the first place.
I'd pay *more* taxes if it went to libraries.
Sure that's simplistic, and our complicity in the destablization of those places-with-oil demands we do something about it. But renewable energy always seemed like an obvious thing to me.
It's seemed obvious to me, since the 80s tht the best thing we could do to protect us from turbulent countries that had oil was to develop alternative energy solutions, thus removing a lot of their power.
how can you say this? The iceberg is clearly a democrta hoax ;)
There is no war in Ba Sing Se.
Except with Eastasia. We've always been at war with them.
I mean, I almost missed Punch a F****** Nazi LARP edition, and no one wants to do that.
Part of that is that itch doesn't put it in your 'library' until you download it, which is one way to manage a large bundle library, and I support that.
But I'd like a way to search through my purchase by tag. Let me find the SOLO RPGs, or the weird indie video games.
I've now bought two giant itch.io bundles full of goodes (including the current one, in support No ICE in MN -- itch.io/b/3484/no-ic... ) but it's really hard to search and find cool things in my library/purchases.

Minnesota’s coalition is demanding:
1: ICE must leave Minnesota now.
2: Renee Good’s killer, Jonathan Ross, must be held legally accountable.
3: No additional federal funding for ICE in the upcoming budget.
“These are moral common sense for a state that values truth, freedom, and life.”
As a poly kinky bi writer of smut, this is 100% a hard skill to master.
Whether it's the Mercator one or something else, I'm sure part of the problem is projection.
Wound care referral be like "What's your insurance, how will you pay for this?'
Me: "It'll literally cost me an arm or a leg if I don't see you."
As god as my witness....
Happy Thanksgiving.
got to call the sept's island the Septagon just to confuse people.
And while I'm politically in agreement with much of his policies, I think this plan is what will work for anyone, but particularly democrats. Give the people where you are a positive vision of the future, tailored to them, and based on a clear and understandable ideology.
