Warsh hearing so far has been kind of frustrating. No one has asked the questions that seem most relevant to me:
1) is Trump's criminal investigation into Powell appropriate?
2) what would you do if Trump threatened retribution against you if he didn't like your actions/Fed policy decisions?

Reminder that analysts thought there was a deal to be struck with North Korea in 2017-2018, not to denuclearize (they won't), but to count/verify nukes, stabilize situation. Trump didn't order any diplomatic work for that and instead did a photo op with Kim.
His diplomacy and his deals are fake.

If the second Trump administration consisted of DOGE and nothing else it would still be one of the very worst in American history:

Well all of the male cabinet members are beyond reproach.
I get to the airport at the exact right time every time. Anyone arriving any earlier than me is a sap, anyone arriving any later is a reckless nut.
It would be nice if there were a system where alternative estimates could be examined and evaluated. Maybe we could call it a "hearing." And each side could file documents we could call "briefs."
It's a tiny piece of all this but (given my interests) I find it fascinating that Roberts cited the cost of the CPP as $480 billion when the actual government estimate was $8.4 billion. He was clearly getting his numbers elsewhere. (also ignored the estimate of $34-$54 billion).
The task of de-Trumpification of science and public health will take a generation and a "Marshall Plan" to rebuild. Without a bold, expansive vision to guide us, there is no coming back. Small-bore, poll-tested versions of the future will not help us. www.thenation.com/article/soci...
This is why Unitary Executive Theory should be dunked on as academic theory. Practically, it depends on the President being a virtuous man. President Trump is craven. Theoretically, a civil system lessens the spoils because the bureaucrat is not subordinate to the will of one man.
🍃 The average property tax bill in #NJ reached about $10,570 in 2025, the highest in the nation, leading some policymakers and residents curious in whether new revenue sources, like #cannabis taxes, could offset high #propertytaxes:

What are transportation engineering students learning about induced travel? According to new research by Drs. Kelcie Ralph and Ellen Oettinger White, not enough. Their review reveals significant gaps in how textbooks address this concept.

I see what you did there.
Crap, I have Trump +40 on Fanduel.
And all of yesterday's games were 9-13 point margins. Not ass whupins but not in doubt late in the 4th either.
This morning, I posted two important stories based on insider information from the FBI and SCOTUS, published in @theatlantic.com and @nytimes.com respectively.
This doesn’t happen by accident.

Overshooting 1.5°C looks likely—but it’s not game over. The key is limiting how far (and how long) we exceed it, then bringing temperatures back down with rapid cuts + carbon removal. Every fraction of a degree still matters.

Most Americans who don't exist in certain online far-left communities spend relatively little time thinking about Israel-Palestine as an issue and if you're not immersed in this 24/7 it can be surprisingly difficult to say something mundane as "please stop all the killing" without upsetting someone
Someday, and that day may never come, I will call upon you to do a service for me.
I continue to think that, when faced with the existential threats we face, “earn” is a
far too self-centered and consumerist way of thinking about one’s vote.

So, I'm no market expert but have genuinely tried to learn more. Get that today on this news a big shift makes sense for trading so you're not on wrong side. But it doesn't make sense to me to leap to "it's open!" or "markets were right" given Iran's statement and dynamics of situation. 1/
