I think the meme culture of shitting on big game directors might have nuance to certain people, but the average person is slowly being turned into hating devs and artists and writers. It’s a dangerous practice that will slip into devaluing the work of artists.

“Why do you think Skyrim is a good game” is a great question to ask to separate people who enjoy video games from Gamers™

It’s riddled with Gamer™ energy and reeks of bad faith creation.

Just admit you don’t get it but think you do.

There are always small people out there that think “they can fix it” or “they know how it should really be done”. And instead of making something from their heart, unique or inspired, they force their spin on an existing thing that always seems to be devoid of those traits that made the original

Saw an ad for a “scrolls-like” (ew) game being made by an indie dev. The first thing it did was say fuck Todd Howard, then proceed to say they’re making ES themselves, then proceed to list off things in the game that they know damn well did not make ES good.

Why hire a professional if you’re just going to complain. It should be illegal to waste the time of dark wizard coaches.
