Extreme weather, longer fire seasons, rising insurance costs.

Still think sustainability is a nice-to-have?

The cost of inaction is already hitting margins.

If you work in climate, politics, or just want to understand what global agreements really take, go see Kyoto

It’s fierce, funny, and painfully relevant. The kind of storytelling we need more of.

Playing Soho Place Theatre, London until 3 May 🎭

The most moving part? Seeing how nations with vastly different agendas did come to an agreement

It’s easy to feel cynical about global climate talks, especially in our current divided era, but this is a powerful reminder that unity is possible when urgency outweighs ego

Kyoto puts you in the room where it happened: 11 hrs past the COP deadline, nations deadlocked, and fossil fuel lobbyists doing all they can to sink a deal.

Climate negotiations aren’t dull, they’re messy, human, political. This play nails it.

About the play | Kyoto | Royal Shakespeare Company From the writers and directors of the universally-acclaimed The Jungle comes this pulse-pounding political drama.

Saw Kyoto at Soho Place Theatre last night: Tense, brilliant & painfully real. It captures the drama, division & surprising unity of the 1997 climate talks.

Ultimately, it gave me hope that so many countries can, in fact, agree on a global scale🌍

💰 Think sustainability is expensive?

🤔 Watch your margins shrink when climate risks drive up insurance costs

Extreme weather = rising premiums & policy exclusions. Companies tied to fossil fuels or resource-heavy industries will pay the price

How can businesses stay ahead? 🌍💸

This is amazing. We need it in the UK for sure.

I've also been trying to convince corporate conferences to offer it in their exhibition areas for attendees and event staff but no one has been keen yet!

Feel helpless, want an easy thing to do? Switch banks

Just FYI

💰 UK’s biggest banks are still fueling the climate crisis. Since the Paris Agreement, Barclays, HSBC, Santander, NatWest & Lloyds have invested $556 billion in fossil fuels- $55 billion in 2023 alone

Climate change: What role is it playing in the California fires Experts say that rising global temperatures are making wild fires more likely in California.

Scientists are linking the wildfires in LA to climate “whiplash”— the rapid shifts between drought & heavy rain driven by a warming world. While #climatechange isn’t the direct cause, it’s a significant factor making fire weather more extreme & frequent

I'm yet to find my way with mushrooms, they are not my favourite at all, but I'd be curious to try Lions Mane after all the hype.

Not seen any community efforts on plant-based diets yet, but maybe I'm not hanging around with the right people. I'll check out the Reddit thread though! Thanks.

Education is a big one, I wonder what the Personal, social, health, and economic (PSHE) curriculum talks about at the moment?

For me, making one veg the hero of the dish does it, although now & then I do crave good meat swap!

Interested in community support - how have you seen that in action?

It is brilliant, I might reference this next time I'm trying to explain the climate change problem in a short presentation.

Carbon dioxide removal is not a current climate solution — we need to change the narrative Drastically reduce emissions first, or carbon dioxide removal will be next to useless.

In recognition of us doing fuck all to reduce emissions, let me remind y'all that carbon dioxide removal (CDR) is useless unless we decarbonize drastically.

Great to see Veganuary having a lasting impact on meat consumption! 🌱

But social pressures, limited comparable meat swaps & perceived inconvenience still make plant-based diets hard to maintain.

What do you think would make plant-based eating easier for more people?

Big tech funding $80M in carbon removal for paper mills & sewage plants—progress or patchwork? Retrofitting older industries is a step forward, but can these solutions scale fast enough to make a real dent in emissions? Systemic change still feels like the missing link.

All valid points, it's a shame Vinted, Ebay and Depop aren't on here to respond. Right to return should be up there on the list of must-haves - personally, anything I've not received as satisfactory, I've had no problem returning.

But you're right about diseases - it hadn't occurred to me!

I completey agree - nearly all of my clothing has been from Vinted in the past few years. Although I am concerned it encourages those selling clothing to buy more new items in their place.

What risks of 2nd hand do you think are barriers to purchase?
