The Orion nebula. The trapezium cluster in the center illuminates the surrounding cloud of gas and dust. The hydrogen gas radiates red/purple, the oxygen some blue/green. The colors take around a quarter of the field of view, the rest are shades of grays with a lot of stars. Black "holes" are actually dust clouds hiding the background lights.
