Voters did this. Not partisan politicians like in Texas.
There’s been a ton of cultural work done to imbue white supremacy with an image of honor. We get Confederates as anti-heroes with Black, Latino, Asian, Indigenous allies, sidekicks, etc etc, but in practice, this is what it looks like.
I understand the why. But it is still so fascinating to see Trump maintain a fiercely loyal following despite repeated and demonstrable evidence that he has no idea what he's doing.
Kash Patel is suing the Atlantic, because what you really want to do is open up discovery to a bunch of investigative journalists.
Also, taking a service academy team to the Elite Eight might quietly be one of the most impressive accomplishments in all of basketball history.
David Robinson majored in mathematics at the Naval Academy. He might be the geekiest person to ever play in the NBA. He also might also be the most idealized physical presence the NBA has ever had. The duality of man.
I don't know if the props used in the final segment of @lastweektonight1.bsky.social were bought in person or ordered online but either way, I'm pretty sure the retailer had a whole lot of questions.

A friend of mine was killed by her husband in a murder/suicide. They now share a gravestone. And that makes me spitting-nails furious. I wish she'd been able to get away from him. Now she doesn't even get that in death.
If Mamdani and Obama singing The Wheels On The Bus with a group of tiny kids doesn't spark some sort of joy in you, I've got nothing for you.
The chief justice was eager to assert his institution’s authority and to rein in Mr. Obama’s Environmental Protection Agency, which he believed had sidestepped a recent ruling. The two men, both cerebral, polished Harvard Law graduates, had long posed a puzzle: How could such smooth personalities create so much friction?
It's a mystery.
I don't recall any previous transformative technologies that had to be sold to the public so hard. No one in 1999 was going, "Guys. Cell phone? It's coming, whether we like it or not. I think it's important, FOR WOMEN ESPECIALLY, to learn about cell phone. So that we're not left behind!!"
Thr South Korean president criticized Israel, Israel got super mad about the mention of the Holocaust, and not the far worse reference. The president compared them to imperial Japan, which is like the worst thing a Korean can call anyone or anything www.theverge.com/policy/91358...
Ok, so I wasn't going crazy for wondering this exact same thing.
Young pope Leo, undated but he appears to be in his teens or early 20’s

What I can say with complete confidence is that telling a Nigerian woman "No" is a good way to make God laugh.
Listen, I 100% support all international conflicts being solved by bboy battles.
He said that the values enshrined in the 1776 Declaration of Independence have “fallen out of favor” among Americans -- a trend perpetrated, he argued, by “intellectuals” and the nation’s colleges and universities.
I also wonder if he realized the irony of saying this while speaking at THE UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS.
Draymond Green is one of my least favorite players ever but gotdamn if that dude isn't one of the most elite defensive players ever.
And the Clippers blowing this 4Q lead is a great reminder that the Clippers are still the Clippers.
Steph Curry reminding people that he's Steph Curry.
Al Horford ain't scared.
I understand that it's Clarence Thomas but the fact that a Black man in the United States can treat ideals from 1776 as infallible is utterly ridiculous.

I'd also completely forgotten that Swalwell briefly sought the presidential nomination in 2020.
When news of Swallwell's victims initially emerged, one of my first thoughts was to wonder why someone who has this in his past would continue seeking increasingly brighter spotlights.
Of course, the likely answer is that this story is probably common and he's just one that we know about.
The Texas Rangers have unveiled a controversial new statue modeled after Jay Banks, a former Texas law enforcement officer known for enforcing school segregation.
The unveiling preceded the MLB’s celebration of Jackie Robinson Day, which commemorates the first African American MLB player.
