I know it is tempting to think you are running out of time, I’ve been there, but please hear me when I say: you are in the PRIME of life.

But you are a young person who IS trying to make new friendships and give a strong go at the language and who probably can duck out if it sucks ass, and going into it with that sensitivity to the effect your presence may have.

lol there was an article I read about a couple from San Francisco who moved to Europe in retirement and had only complaints….no friends, don’t speak the language, don’t like going out. They wanted it to be like permanent vacation, catered to their whim.

Yes, of course, but you’re not that rich and sometimes you have to live your own life as though it is separate from analyses and articles and sociology. you’re a conscientious person! And you are allowed to want things and try things out.

If you are on your way towards moving abroad, do that, and then come back to a bigger city as your fallback. Settle later! Things might not work out perfectly but you’re not doing anything insane by checking out other parts of the EU.
