So I built a custom editor where I can directly shape the world.
Right now I can:
• paint terrain
• define resource zones
• place NPC spawns
• control world layout

Falkreach is already playable in browser.

This update was all about feel.
Less friction.
Better onboarding.
More natural movement.
If you try it, I’d really like to hear what stands out (good or bad).
A lot of smaller improvements went in as well:
• better collision (walls, doors, narrow spaces)
• improved respawning
• smoother crowded areas and combat
• more stable world joining
Things should just feel better overall.
Added waystone travel.
You can now move between locations for a small coin cost.
This makes exploring the world much less tedious.
Early gameplay is now more guided.
Your first steps can include:
• cutting a tree
• clearing a stump
• breaking stone
• crafting an axe
• fighting a goblin
Small steps to ease players into the world.
The world now has a proper starting area.
New players begin near a small camp:
• fisherman
• huts
• waystone
It feels like arriving somewhere real, not just spawning on a map.
Added a simple in-game Help guide.
It explains:
• movement
• combat
• gathering
• building
The goal is straightforward — you shouldn’t have to guess how the game works.
Target-based actions are also improved.
• Move To
• Follow
• Attack
• Interact
They now guide your character into range automatically, which makes moment-to-moment gameplay feel smoother.
The biggest addition is click-to-move.
You can now click or tap anywhere and your character will walk there.
If the path is blocked, your character stops at the nearest valid spot instead of getting stuck.
Movement already feels much better.
Falkreach dev update 🧵
The last two weeks were focused on something simple but important:
Making the game easier to learn, smoother to play, and more enjoyable overall.
Here’s what changed 👇

I’m building a pixel-art survival MMO called Falkreach.
Inspired by the feeling of early online worlds like Lineage II and RuneScape.
• quests
• trading economy
• crafting
• player-built settlements
The prototype is already playable in browser (falkreach.com)
Looking for early testers.
Expanded falkreach.com with first quests and npc dialogues. Basics are now completed and I can finally start with world building.
I’m looking for game testers, so please join if you are interested!
