WA schools superintendent resists Trump’s DEI order Washington joins a group of Democratic-led cities and states pushing back on threats to cut K-12 school funding over diversity, equity and inclusion efforts.

The administration’s demand for what I call a loyalty pledge to a racial worldview from every school in the country is “an astounding act of aggression against our democracy the likes of which I’ve never seen or heard tell of in the United States of America.”

Trump gave states 10 days to sign anti-DEI policy. NY Education Department is refusing. In a Friday letter to the U.S. Education Department, New York officials said they will not certify that the state is eliminating DEI in schools, despite threats to pull federal funding.
