Timeline cleanse: I just got on a bus. An elderly woman was trying to pay but her card didn’t work. She was standing flustered by the driver. A boy, maybe 12 or 13 years old, who was queuing to get on said to the bus driver, “sir can I pay for her?” and then went ahead and paid for her

Thanks Andy!
An excellent two part column from @writesbright.bsky.social about Farage's foreign political and financial web.

Excellent.
A stone in the shoe for the Reform voter in your life.
I had a lot of fun making the image for this piece
With Farage making a shed load of money from bitcoin and an assortment of weird companies, we’ve launched a map and live tracker of his income 👇🏻👇🏻
Strongly recommend this excellent, well-researched piece by Sam Bright on Farage’s highly murky funding and networks. Farage is the grifter’s grifter.
"Farage seems to deeply dislike modern Britain – to the extent that he wants to remake it in the image of his favourite foreign autocracies."
Honestly just ban social media until the companies can show they’ve got a grip on this.
I’m increasingly not sure democracy can survive the deepfake era.

Farage has accepted £675,000 – a third of his income – from foreign sources since becoming an MP.

It's perfectly reasonable to challenge ministers on N Sea oil & gas as a response to the energy shock.
But this is the exclusive framing for EVERY interview on this topic.
No minister or opposition leader is ever asked if they'll "max out" wind/solar.
It's always framed as fossil fuels v inaction
Completely missed that Matt GPT had gone for a sort of Losers Huddle in Budapest.
In case you missed it, @desmog.com produced a map last week tracking the ties – including funding relationships – between Reform and Viktor Orbán's regime, based on our years of following this network.
Check it out 👇
I don’t know why but something tells me the answer is likely to be: ’yes, they did’.
MCC, which appears to still employ Goodwin, also received a massive £57 million payday just two days before the election.

He's really exposed to the sort of stuff which invites scrutiny in a way a local nutjob candidate really wouldn't have done.
"local candidate was racist" won't turn people off Reform the same way "candidate took loads of money from foreign regime and lied about it" might.
Which poses the bigger question... did Reform lie about Goodwin's relationship with a state-funded pro-Orbán group?
🔴 NEW 🔴
Matthew Goodwin spoke at Orbán’s in-house think tank in Budapest yesterday where he tried to console Fidesz supporters.
Crucially, Goodwin also didn’t deny still receiving money from MCC – saying “I’m perfectly fine with all of my working relationships” 👀

If Matt Goodwin is speaking in Budapest, 5pm today, he has kept v quiet about being there. He posted extensively about Hungary's 2018, 2022 election results, but nothing at all on 2026
This one will be a barnstormer
In absolutely chef’s kiss timing, Matthew Goodwin is due to speak at Orbán’s in-house propaganda group MCC *today*
Badloss strikes again.
Agreed. The original report also didn’t reveal Goodwin’s salary, just the upper range of what senior fellows could expect to be paid, which is a bit different to how it’s being reported in some outlets
It can be done
Orbán controlled 80% of the Hungarian media and still lost.
That’s one hell of a beating
