I think it's wonderful that fiction affects reality. It informs who we are and can change who we are, too. So I think conceding the idea that fiction affects reality to be used only by those who would seek to use it for pro-censorship ideology is deeply foolish.

If fiction didn't have the power to affect reality it would be entirely without meaning. I don't think fiction about harmful subjects endorses real life harm or whatever but a creation is always some kind of extension of the worldview of the creator(s) into your world and should be treated as such.
I think in seeking out comfort and understanding about "problematic" fiction you find a lot of people who jump to the idea that fiction doesn't really affect reality as a defense so it's important to remember that the power of fiction to affect reality is not just real but good important and sacred.

Happy Birthday Ancient One
Art of Newt, a lizard creature made entirely of translucent green slime, and wearing a chunky technological metal collar that it uses to speak, looming over a black and white husky with blue eyes and nose and wearing a dark purple shirt. Newt is pushing the husky against the wall with one of its paws on the husky's chest, dripping slime all over the husky's shirt and legs. Newt says "you want a nice collar like Newt?" (implying they'd be turned into a slime lizard like Newt in order to NEED a collar like that >:3)
local husky would like to get slimed like newt

it is interesting to live in a world where the united states has declared people of my heritage 'public enemy number one'
I should share my OCs and stories and ideas more, but instead I'll just post random character shots and other related stuff with zero context and never further elaborate on it so that it's forever a mystery to the public eye (I like being mysterious... actually I'm just scared of sharing things...)

Art of a male Kangaskhan. His skin is a green color, and he's standing proud with his fists on his hips and looking down at the bay baby Kangaskhan in his pouch. He's wearing a black shirt with the text "i'm not the STEP DAD, i'm just the DAD that STEPPED UP".
