Thank you for teaching me something today! 🤣

This is true of so, so, so many things. You can try a game of saying, “hey, what would be true if both my experience and this fact that feels opposite of my experience were true at the same time”. I think it is really useful. You don’t have live in that space but its okay to play in it.
I think of it that there are two types of importance. The importance of me being me and what I need. And the importance of me being a part of things and impacting others and my world in small ways just by being there and present
I assume you're looking for human genetics not microbial so I can only help with a repost 😔
The lab has asked for an intro to genetics book for the lab library. Do folks have any recommendations?
I can’t believe I have to make this statement but here it is:
There are experts who believe in BOTH modern vaccines and medicines AND traditional plant medicine/ natural remedies.
And we dont really conjure the media or capture audiences like the extremists do. 👀
Please support my students kickstarter to finish an educational wastewater video game we started building!
I taught an interdisciplinary capstone class video game where programmers, artists, sound designers, and education students could work together!

I still have to convince myself that those are okay to touch sometimes 😂
My food aversion cookbook and guide COLOR TASTE TEXTURE has been called both “funnier than a cookbook has any right to be,” and “life changing.”
Built on a foundation on unconditional acceptance of individual sensory needs, for all ages. Written by me, an Autistic classically trained chef.
Please help if you can.

At the start of the day she needed $1,000 to get medical treatment for Mohammed, now she only needs $430, PLEASE share this and give whatever you can.
Anyone seen writing that thinks about fossil fuels as a kind of time travel?
Fictional or scholarly.
Yes? But I'm struggling to remember what. Maybe Penny Chisholm's Living (or Buried) Sunlight books?

I had an undergrad prof who always made comments like this.
Frustrated one day, I finally asked him who raised us [to be so displeasing].
I don't think he ever brought it up again.
Yes! The music is awesome!
And if you haven't already, consider watching Emilia Perez - it's apparently based on a modern opera & also has amazing music(al scenes)
We signed our lease today, which means I can tell you Good Girl Books will be located at 7685 W Northshore Drive between Richy Kreme donuts and Flourish flowers in Knoxville! We bought a can of pink paint today! IT’S HAPPENING! (Also donuts, flowers, and romance novels is a helluva day!)
What a line...
"This was like trying to fix a microwave by hugging it" 🤣
Me too! My little will eat nearly any fruit or vegetable & is in the habit of trying at least 1 bite of anything, but the list of reliable foods has become increasingly restricted over the last year - add to that diverging dietary needs for the grown ups & I'm running out of ideas 😭
Putting this on my wishlist...
Thank you for your service!
All of this. Public Radio affiliates are often the only thing on the dial in the rural U.S. that isn’t right-wing talk radio or Christian proselytizing (is there a difference these days ha hah ugh) and they do so much good, necessary reporting, even if they don’t get everything right
Well, I mean, we haven't gotten her to stop watching Fox when FiL puts it on, but I did get her to go to Harshbarger's office once to at least ask about what's going on so IDK - at a minimum, she can't say that she wasn't told!
Agree! One of the first things that got through was showing my MiL the proposed Medicaid cuts. As a scientist, I'm very fact heavy, but there's data that presenting opposing facts only solidifies the existing position - so then I get overwhelmed & don't know where to start lol
