Late to this, and it's an article/chapter rather than a book, but I recently reread Ranajit Guha's "Chandra's Death" and am newly blown away by it. (Not a South Asianist, can't recognize what may be its shortcomings, all the caveats.)

Good work. Just plan ahead. That jab can be a wild ride. Get it on a Friday at noon with no plans Saturday. I never had CP as a kid, tho, and got the CP vax in 2004, so ymmv.

Do it. Lucked into courtside seats at Roland Garros in 1999 (Agassi>Moya) and it was the experience of a lifetime. It is unbelievable how much power and speed you'll witness.

Does the Hotel Cardinal still have those mini-apartment situations with the kitchenettes? Haven't stayed there for a while but they used to be a good deal. No a/c tho, which could be a dealbreaker depending on when you're going.

Where does the term bunny hug come from? | CBC News A cozy hooded sweatshirt with a front pouch is known in most of Canada as a hoodie. In Saskatchewan, it’s a bunny hug.

If it gets much chillier, you might need to put on a "bunny-hug."

I don't know, but it does explain why the Milwaukee stadium has a baked potato bar. Like, no one wants *that* in July.

Aw, you're too kind ☺️

And credit where it's due--it was Bonnie's advice, which never missed.

read the proposal! I would have been doomed had I gone with the first strategy. That person wound up being an essential mentor for years to come.

Absolutely. Funny story. When I was writing my Fulbright proposal a million years ago, I was going to talk about all the flaws in the existing literature. Revised to talk about how great the foundational lit was and that I wanted to build on it. Turns out the main person I was going to critique

All of this. It's like some people have stopped doing deep literature reviews and therefore think their interventions are entirely novel, when they are often redundant or otherwise flawed.

Doesn't it matter whether you follow the rules? The rule followers are cyclists, everyone else just rides a bike? /s

I'm going with public speakerphone, if only because it's more pervasive in my experience.

I just read the article--it says some major airports are not reporting current wait times. 🙃
