It’s my defense anniversary which makes 6 years since I defended my phd. I can officially say I’ve been out longer than I was in and wow the post phd years go by so much faster 😅

We’ve evolved from calling bananas “nanas” to “banananas”. I’m going to be so sad when they’re called by their proper name.

Finally back to being able to go for an hour long run where it feels pretty good

I can’t believe I live in the same era that has both Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone and Mondo Duplantis

Does my daughter need more magna tiles? No. Do we celebrate Easter? Also no. Did I still buy my daughter more magna tiles to put in her Easter basket as a partially selfish gift because I also want to play with them? Fuck yes!

One of the best parts about moving to Chicagoland is that my sister and I now can just take turns dog sitting when we go on vacation. We don’t have to worry about paying someone bc we try to keep it fairly equal and we know we can trust the sitter so it’s a win win.

Equally fun is when they said weird things that don’t really mean what they want. For example “Eleanor coffee” means my daughter wants a cup of milk in an espresso mug 😂

One of the fun things about parenting a 2 year old is the part where they know a ton of words but as their parent you’re one of the few that understands what they’re saying so when family visits it’s like you have a secret language between the two of you

Nothing says happy Monday like being unable to find one of your mittens (while the rest of your winter gear is still packed in boxes) as you’re late to catch your train. Doing the one mitten / one hand in pocket look today I guess.

We officially own a treadmill which means even though my husband insists he’s done marathoning for a while he’s inevitably going to register for one soon. Let’s hope it’s in a fun place!
