The Yung Gawd gave it a 6/10. Said he liked it but it's not better than the first. I'm somewhere between a 4 and 5/10. Mario may have Sonic wiped down with video games over the years, but they aren't touching the Blue Blur in terms of movies. Not yet at least.
The ending felt kinda rushed and then it just..ends? Best part might have been the mid-credit scene when a familiar face pops in (biggest laugh of the movie) and post credits lets us know who we'll see next time. To bring this movie franchise back, the next villain has to be Wario. Breath some life
I know people love nostalgia and there's some good stuff in here but that's not enough to carry a 100 minute run time. ___ inclusion is fine if not shoehorned in because of their typical setting. I also think they got their character slightly off. The best decision the movie made? Yoshi doesn't talk
Despite the critics reviews, I like to see things for myself most of the time. Within the first 45 min of the movie, I understood what they were saying. The first movie wasn't high level story telling but it had a clear road map and direction. This movie lacked any real direction to me.

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie
Took the Yung Gawd to see the sequel to the surprisingly fun Super Mario movie. The roll out was perplexing to say the least. Critics panned it the week before release. Meanwhile, someone thought it was smart to spoil ___ was in the movie.
Sifu is very demanding in that if you don't learn it's controls, it does make shii pretty frustrating, particularly once you get to that first boss fight. Definitely hope you get back in--very rewarding to beat.
And no, haven't played Sekiro but might have to grab it at some point
Need to know what went wrong with Sifu. I love that game

In conclusion:
I wish I someone would make a live action movie of this. The story is simple and the reveal ain't even that crazy but it has a lot of moments that would play great on the screen. It would have had to have been Christina Bale doing it.
DC Animated movies are almost always top tier
I give my pals at @distantechoespod.bsky.social a tough time about Stormtroopers being the worst shots in fiction. But Batman cronies and police are pathetic. Handguns, machine guns, tommy guns honey buns...they not shooting on shii in this movie 😂
What of the impactful moments in this movie is Bruce at his parents grave, begging his parents to let him know he can stop being this vigilante, that he never realized he'd be happy in his life. Bruce really is just a guy whose need to avenge his parents has led to a mental health crisis.
My boy Bruce got a type and it's called Baddies Only. He definitely dropping blondie off the roster...she trying to tie him down. We don't play those games.
