A framed image with four watercolor painting vignettes and a poem, Memory by Thomas Aldritch
I finally got this season's watercolor poem and tableau up. I usually end up liking them either more or less over time. I've started by liking this one, so we'll see how it ends up. I debating inking the lettering on the poem. #memory #spring #watercolor

A record with "Stravinsky conducts Firebird Suite, Petrushka Suite by Columbia Symphony Orchestra". The ballerina appears to be swooping across empty space in a red gown with a huge feather. Get expression is fierce, and in addition to dramatic eye makeup she has under eye prosthetics that give her an inhuman piercing gaze.
This ballerina is terrifying in the best way. #stravinsky #firebird #petrushka

Bare branches with small buds against a gray blue house with a bright yellow door. The sky is gray
Wondering how these pawpaw buds will handle a few freezing nights. I'm encouraged by how many different phases of maturity they're at that name will likely make it. "All" seems possible too since none are in full flower. #pawpae

An insulated bag over the top of a pot in grizzly rain
When it's gonna freeze tonight, but the lemon/lime weighs like 80 pounds and I don't want to bring it in again.

I just unsubscribed from the town soccer updates I first signed up for sixteen years ago, when my eldest was four. I have feelings.

The book "The Word is Murder" by Anthony Horowitz
Book 23: I've enjoyed the twisty telling of murders by @anthonyhorowitz.com . I only meant to read half this book tonight. Oops! I feel like I kept up with the narrator, but the protagonist was a step ahead, like all the best fiction detectives. #bookaweek #booksky

A close up of a dirty white chair. The top of the chair has a beautiful dogwood motif
An old, dirty white wrought iron chair
A picture of a new Sunjoe pressure washer
A set of white furniture drying upside down with a new paint job
Today I bought fifty year old lawn furniture another five years of good health. Also, a pressure washer is cheap therapy. #spraypaint #rustoleum

Amazing that in the national divorce the libs are getting the NFL, butter and cooking oil, being attracted to adult women, standup comedy, Bud Light, and now also Catholicism

I was awake and offering helpful suggestions the whole time, despite a triple dose of knockout. But I did it with my husband and a friend and honestly we had a blast*. It was actually kind of fun. *I mean, there is definitely a blast aspect...

This is your reminder to schedule your colonoscopy if you are 45 or older. If you're high risk, earlier! My mom died of colon cancer in February, and it was terrible. She didn't go in for a colonoscopy ever, and it would have been caught a lot earlier if she had.

A baby lupine surrounded by tiny strawberry starts and dead leaves.
Garden updates from mid April🧵. I'm waiting to clean up the remaining leaves until the weekend, to give the overwintering bugs a chance to emerge in the warm weather, and deeply concerned at a forecasted frost early next week. #gardening #lupine #strawberries

I wonder how often I would need to do deadlifts in order to not walk like I don't have knees for three days after I do deadlifts.

Two cowboys are lost in the desert. One cowboy sees a tree that’s draped in bacon.
"A bacon tree ! We’re saved!" he says.
He runs up to the tree and is immediately shot up with bullets.
It wasn’t a bacon tree, it was a ham bush.

Our team received a report of intermittent app outages at about 11:40pm PDT on April 15, 2026. They worked through the night to mitigate a sophisticated Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) attack, which intensified throughout the day.

A white mansion on a hill with a stone wall below and newly blooming forsythia. At the bar of the wall is a square of daffodils.
I planted 150 #daffodils last fall (with permission of the home owner). In my minds eye, all of Dikes Wall has a thick and cheerful verge of daffodils. But at the current rate that'll take me 20 years. #nobilityhill

Tiny shoots of mayapple next to a teeny rodent skull in tired mulch
A veritable patch of Canadian ginger starts
I was sure that the #mayapple (#mandrake) I planted last year had been scorched to oblivion. The spot was too sunny. But here it is! I may still move some of it, but I'm very excited. The Canadian #ginger did very well last year and is roaring back.

A large pair of rhubarb plants with huge leaves and a pink flower starting in the middle. A smaller green flower is in the next florette
My #rhubarb was so eager to get going that it pushed through a snow bank. I've never seen a rhubarb flower before. As a crop, you should remove the flowers so it focuses it's energy on the leaves. But I think I'm just going to let it bloom.
