Thanks for this. I graduated in 1997, thoroughly disgusted and determined to never look back. Years later I started to notice and admire the progress you mention. By 2020, I'd grown fonder of A&M than my grad school (UC Berkeley). Only to watch them yeet all that progress into space on Jan 20, 2025.
