I can't stop looking at the images taken by ISS astronauts during the Nov 11-13 G4 event. Here, I have taken a screenshot from Jonny Kim's video showing a SAR arc detached from the main auroral oval.

2025 will not be the year of New Year's resolutions.

Only New Year's revolutions.

The failure of the polls in the Presidential election of 1048 had many consequences, not all of them grave. Whether the events of November 1948 cut down the expansion of opinion research into new areas or seriously damaged the prestige of social psychology is something that cannot yet be judged

The pollsters over-reached the capabilities of the poll as a predicting device. THe election was so close that it is unlikely that there was justification on the part of polls to publish a flat prediction concerning outcome.

Reading a 1950 Annual Review of social psychology, and struck by the extended discussion of the "failure of the polls" vis a vis 1948 presidential election (Famous "Dewey Beats Truman" photograph). Time is a flat circle.

Two years into the AI boom, it's imperative we understand the true power of "AGI"—as a narrative tool useful for winning investment, talent and headlines.

My report for AI Now details how OpenAI used the story of a rising AI that will replace humans to replace the need for an actual business model.

One of these craters is not like the others! It was made by the impact of the 3rd stage of the Saturn V, which launched Apollo 13 towards the Moon. Can you see the crater with the S-IVB?
