2. I don’t watch Vera.
3. Yes, the Irish use “pet” in this way. It’s usually in an affectionate way.
And Miss Nuala is a groomer who does so by being superficially “nice”, so absolutely someone like that would speak in that way.

I have been to Effin several times as my sister-in-law comes from there. My nephew (who was born and grew up in Australia) lived there for a while and took great delight in telling people he went to “Effin Primary School”.

Clodagh is a fairly well-known Irish name. In Ireland, people have really embraced traditional names as a way of reclaiming identity. But I went to school with a Clodagh in Australia and she actually came along to one of my recent book events! I hadn’t seen her since school.

It’s been my life’s work to discuss these issues. I’ve written two books on the subject. It is the subject about which I’m probably most passionate. I speak to survivors and victims every week and have done so for ten years. So I’m pleased when a whole Opera House of women wants to hear about them.

Our discussion was about her & victims of these crimes. Not survivors because tragically, she didn’t survive. And what that means. And how she was a survivor long before Epstein. And how he clearly preyed on that vulnerability. Having hundreds of women think about those serious issues was powerful.

And that was one of the first things I did today, asked everyone in that room to think about both Virginia and Caroline, who died long before they should have. Who tried so hard to get justice. Who never stopped fighting. The fact she wasn’t there and we were. Amy Wallace spoke so movingly of her.

#insidetheepsteinfiles with @maitlis.bsky.social #amywallace with @milliganreports.bsky.social @sydneyoperahouse.bsky.social was heartbreaking, unbelievable and inspiring all that the same time. (I know I know a real contradiction).

We need to remain hopeful that the truth will prevail 🙏🏻

Louise Milligan’s follow-up to Pheasants Nest is vivid and haunting The award-winning journalist continues the story of her protagonist Kate Delaney in her second novel.

First, gorgeous, review of my new novel Shellybanks in SMH: ‘…”tight. And bright. And unflinching’, this could well be a description Milligan’s own prose style, which is also fresh, spare and vivid… Shellybanks is as powerful as Pheasants Nest and just as haunting.’ www.smh.com.au/culture/book...

Premier Jacinta Allan on our #4Corners: “I’ve also referred these allegations to Victoria Police. Without commenting on specific case, let me be clear: Performing unnecessary surgery is a crime, removing a woman's organs without a clinical need is a crime, & assisting in that conduct is a crime."

'Your word against his': Women's complaints against surgeon dismissed by regulator Australia's medical regulator, AHPRA, faces criticism for failing to act on complaints from patients about surgeries by Melbourne gynaecologist Simon Gordon.

“Dropped the ball”. Medical regulator sought no expert opinion in knocking back women’s complaints about Dr Simon Gordon going back years. & hospital told nurses who wanted to complain to AHPRA to go through its lawyers so would be legally privileged (hence secret).

Women 'let down by the system': Simon Gordon was gynaecology's open secret Complaints had been made about this gynaecologist for years. Only when hospital management discovered that Four Corners was looking into his practice, did it start investigating further.

Gynaecology's open secret. Surgeon repeatedly removed women's tissue & organs for “severe” #endometriosis. Pathology showed little/no trace of it. Multiple complaints by clinicians & patients to hospital & AHPRA. Nothing happened. Our 7-month #4Corners investigation. www.abc.net.au/news/2026-02...
