Let's pretend it's been two weeks as promised and not two months :D
It's a very early prototype, as we are busy with work and other projects, so no deadline yet. But I'm super happy that the whole thing is already connected to the server, that's why the states persist. See ya in another two months!

Will probably share some video of the prototype next week :)
We already have a working prototype, so you can brew potions, grow ingredients in a small greenhouse and ask cats that live in a bar to fetch exotic ingredients. It's time for progression and interface. I expect the game to be in beta around October :)
Also, the server code is 80% ready!
Hey, I haven't posted anything in a while. We currently paused the development of our 2D rpg with a slavic style cuz the scope of the project is too much for the team we have. We decided to do some small mobile games first. Atm we are working on a game about potion making/witch shop

Yeah, sometimes you're looking for a specific thing and it's a drag to find it haha. Also, AI is providing links for docs, you can use those to get to the part of the doc that you actually need
I feel like it's a skill like any other. Like speaking a different language. Difficult at first, gets easier after a certain threshold.
The key is to try to solve small problems bit by bit, day by day. You'll get there if you stick to it!
Here's an open-source extension I made for #Godot 4.4:
๐ฎ Smart Graphics Settings
This extension automatically optimizes graphics to maintain target FPS across different devices.

Why don't you just delete one and save the other as a scene to then add it to both of the scenes? Seems like an easy fix
Our amazing cat just recently endured 12 hours on a bus with no complaints or fear, befriending all the passengers and being the center of attention as if she does this once a week.
We're super happy that she's so calm and trusts us so much :)

We decided to shift towards a more Slavic style (around XII c.e.), so the indoor decor currently looks like this. Still a work in progress, but we are slowly moving in the right direction.
For a 2d RPG we spend a lot of time on interiors, but it's cool when little things are well done

If you see something awful on Twitter it's ok you don't have to screenshot it to make sure we all see it here as well
People keep following me and I have no idea what to do about it haha
Most of the accounts are not that interesting so I can't in good conscience follow back๐
Aren't they reblues now?๐
I'm happy you agree! Using all the resources we have in modern software development helps a lot, imho
Thanks a lot! I'll deliver your compliment to her :3
Exactly! Actually, that is what I did. I have a main page on my wiki (I'm using youtrack, so it's their knowledge base, which is basically poor man's confluence) that has some Miro boards embedded with map and plot mapped out
That's actually a great idea! I use Miro for mapping out stories and maps, because you can see clearer the different bits and maybe move some pieces around. As for the whole design document, I still feel like a wiki is a must (but I'm a system analyst, I live and breathe documentation haha)
Our amazing designer Tiana has been working really hard, here are some examples!
Also we liked the hand drawn sketches of interiors so much that we are now thinking if we should do the whole game in this hand drawn style instead of pixel art we were planning initially. What do you think?

Finally! I needed that so many times in my life and here it is: the ultimate "are you sure you're not being a dumbass" check!
Wow, I don't feel that I'm qualified to give paid lessons yet, haha. But I am happy to try some tutoring for free at first in like two weeks.
Everything is still pretty chaotic as we enter the production phase. I expect stuff to settle down in two weeks time. Don't hesitate to remind me if I forget
Great, I'll keep that offer in mind :3 Yeah, I'm decent with Gdscript and will continue to become better as development goes on. I have a very basic understanding of C# but can figure something out in a pinch too! Just let me know when you need some help :)
Oh, I misread your post haha, sorry! Currently the design document, as I said, is all in russian, lol. But I'll for sure reach out in case we need a poem created from a direct translation or something like that! Also don't hesitate to ask in case you'll need help with coding, I'm happy to assist!
Wow, that's extremely nice of you! I'm not sure how much I'll need help and all of the design docs so far are only in russian... But I would be delighted to collaborate with someone, have code reviews and stuff!
The only reason it is at all doable is because the game itself will be short enough to have all that variety. But I'm still pretty anxious haha. I'm so far the only one who is writing code. And I don't think we'll be able to afford someone else to join. And I still need to learn some stuff, sooo..๐ฌ
I understand how ambitious that all sounds. But we all agreed that if we release something commercial it should have some level of quality.
Oh yeah, some of the dialog options will be hidden until you reach a certain int/str/agl lvl. So depending on your play style you can see new options or endings

We haven't yet decided to what extent we want different characters' stories to have character-specific quests and dialogs for that parallel storytelling, we'll see.
The plan for now to have like 10-14 hours worth of text. Right now the design doc is like 30 pages๐
I forgot to tell you about the game! We're creating a small-world action rpg in part inspired by Gotic 1 and DnD world (our lore master is a DnD GM). We plan on having 3 playable characters that you select at the start, heavily branching quests and to some degree parallel storytelling... 1/2
Yeah, I always thought that I need other people to create something. First of all, it helps to keep each other accountable and also allows me to focus on what I'm good at. So I don't have to compromise a part of the game or learn from scratch to good a completely new skill
Are they actually bad? Kinda curious
And the bugs are not๐
