The Nebraska clinic escort who was assaulted for trying to stop a crisis pregnancy center volunteer from guiding patients into the CPC instead of the abortion clinic
Posts by The Pro-Voice Project
Every time this stuff comes up I think about the Michigan abortion provider who told me about the man who routinely shows up outside her clinic with an assault rifle
From 1977-2024, the anti-abortion movement has committed:
11 murders
26 attempted murders
42 bombings
203 arsons
570 assaults
109 attempted bombings or arsons
100 acid attacks
668 anthrax or bioterrorism threats
4 kidnappings
and the list goes on!

New from me: This week marks the ninth Black Maternal Health Week began on Saturday. At Rewire News Group, we rounded up our reporting on the hurdles Black people face in getting adequate care during pregnancy and birth—and how Black women are taking action:
Excellent reporting, thank you. When Idaho make national news, it's typically for the state punching down on its residents. We hope that all of our supporters are especially supportive of our LGBTQ+ neighbors and loved ones, because all of our rights to freely exist in public are intertwined

No, but actually.
Or: why attending to our inner lives is actually important for fighting fascism.
This is heartbreaking. Two more doctors--one family, one physical therapist--leaving the state due to laws that punish Idahoans' exercise of bodily autonomy

Thank you for sharing this. So much needlessly cruel legislation that is helping no one
A February ruling that struck down Arizona's telehealth ban and two-trip requirement has allowed the state's largest abortion provider to cut costs and reach more patients

“Quite simply, we are furious. This bill is hateful, abusive, and goes against what Idahoans want and need from elected officials. HB 752 — which makes it a crime to be trans in public — is not about safety. This is about using the power of government to target, intimidate, and erase an already vulnerable community.” —Mistie DelliCarpini Tolman (she/her), Regional Political and Idaho State Director, Planned Parenthood Alliance Advocates
"We condemn the legislators who voted for this bill on the strongest possible terms. It is not too late to stop this bill from becoming law and we implore Gov. Little to reject this hateful attack on our trans friends and neighbors. Idahoans deserve better." —Mistie DelliCarpini Tolman (she/her), Regional Political and Idaho State Director, Planned Parenthood Alliance Advocates

If Republicans have their way, "every single day, when I am out in public, I have to ask myself, do I feel like going to jail, or do I feel like being attacked?" writes Nikson Mathews.

I am struggling to understand the extremely muted international response to this. whatever you think of the regime, it is not the regime that is suffering.

Powerful piece in response to Dolores Huerta's revelation that Cesar Chavez abused her. And numerous other women and girls. All of whom kept quiet for the sake of the movement. We see you.
People are commenting about how this is about "powerful" men, but in a society that listens to men over women and girls, that treats the former as competent and credible, the latter as not, every man is empowered to abuse, and it happens at all levels and in all sectors of society.
363 pregnant, postpartum and nursing immigrants were deported b/w Jan 2025 and Feb 16, DHS confirms.
16 miscarried in detention.
121 actively detained as of last month.
These are the first numbers we have on how many pregnant, postpartum and nursing people have been detained under Trump.
Idaho leads the nation in incarceration of women, 62% of whom are jailed on drug charges, and who serve an average of 22 months--almost double what men serve.
And Idaho women are increasingly being drug tested when giving birth idahocapitalsun.com/2024/11/01/s...
There are multiple lawsuits and pieces of legislation pending across the country that would restrict access to or ban the abortion pill.
They rest on many of the same arguments that are not supported by science, so I assembled some of the most common ones and what the facts are here:
