(I'm sorry to admit that a large part of my gender annoyance this morning is actually stemming from the NYT coverage of men discovering one-pan meals)

and I know, "not all men," blah blah blah, of course that's true. But the bad ones being so bad—so publicly! making a brand out of it!—makes the bar so low for good/normal men. Can't wait to look back on this era as a time of anomalously terrible gender garbage.
this is some real Olden Times bullshit, I should not have to entertain this concept in the NYT in 2026
I know it's not the worst part of the Trump era but the way men are behaving right now is so bad and annoying

Literally how does anyone survive the first daycare winter. My child has had 100 viruses in the last 3 months while simultaneously starting to eat/crawl/stand. I could do the postpartum deal again no prob but this cold season is taking years off my life.
Misophonia means having one friend who you text furiously any time someone around you eats potato chips
I wrote about the cowardly lions of corporate America under Trump and their decades-long push to shape the country’s political life and democracy, no matter their protestations to the contrary now. Gift link: www.bloomberg.com/news/article...
You really don’t have to pay a corporation to surveil your neighbors, you can just microchip your dog
White dudes of Brooklyn dressing in all camo: the winter of 2026 is not the time to sport this look, everyone thinks you are about to do an abduction.
May everyone involved in the abduction of baby Liam be publicly shamed, kicked out of their churches, abandoned by whoever they love. May they spend the rest of their days as cold and lonely and terrified as that sweet little boy in his cartoon hat. Evil fucking Gestapo goons.
Honestly leave it to Sinema to make sex and drugs uncool
My child has had 1 regular/minor illness and my understanding of our society’s approach to work/life/care as a functional system immediately collapsed.
Union power, baby!
Relationship counseling but just blind texting each other your semiotic and power analysis of Mamdani and Trump meeting to see if you’re compatible.
All my adult life I had have to know about Larry fucking Summers and for what
I have said this many times but unions are uniquely good at fighting this administration bc they are some of the only institutions led by people who aren’t afraid to antagonize the rich

I’m sorry but I can’t dislike the cut of her jib.
Sorry but I am forced to stan O Nuzzi for eternity because of how she smoked cigs on screen in Zoom contract bargaining during the pandemic

So awkward when you are doing illegal union busting and the attorney general notices
Tish James just told Condé Nast: “See you in court”
Tonight!
How did a relatively standard union action spiral into four terminations and even more suspensions? Just ask the executives at Condé Nast.

Are there women in Ross Douthat’s life?
If you think that asking questions is a form of violence you should not work in journalism, probably. If you are afraid of talking to office workers you should not be a Chief People Officer. Just some thoughts.
If I ran HR for an enormous media corporation I would simply not illegally fire employees who came to my office to ask me questions about layoffs. I would also not make statements to the press saying that the employees had threatened me by asking me questions.
Statement from The NewsGuild of New York and Condé United on illegal firing of four union leaders who demanded answers about this week’s layoffs at Teen Vogue, other brands Late Wednesday night, Condé Nast’s VP of Labor Relations notified the Guild that the Company was immediately terminating four Condé United leaders for engaging in the protected concerted activity of gathering in their 1 World Trade Center office to demand answers on this week’s abrupt layoffs at multiple brands including WIRED and the consolidation at Teen Vogue. These egregious terminations are a flagrant breach of the Just Cause terms of our contract and an unprecedented violation of their federally protected rights as union members to participate in a collective action. Through these illegal terminations, Condé Nast management is attempting to intimidate and silence our members' advocacy for the courageous cultural and political journalism of Teen Vogue, as well as diverting attention away from the obvious lack of corporate leadership at the company. Condé United members illegally fired are: Alma Avalle: Writer, digital producer at Bon Appetit; NewsGuild of New York first vice president, trans activist, and union leader Jake Lahut: Wired senior reporter covering the Trump White House Jasper Lo: Senior fact checker at The New Yorker and US Army veteran: outgoing first vice chair of The New Yorker Union Ben Dewey: Videographer at Condé Nast Entertainment, former vice chair of the CNE unit “Management’s attempt at union-busting, using intimidation and grossly illegal tactics to try to suppress protected union activity, will not stand,” said Susan DeCarava, president of The NewsGuild of New York. “The NewsGuild of New York has zero tolerance for bad bosses who harass, target and disrespect our fellow Guild members. We represent nearly 6,000 media workers across the tri-state area and we stand firmly in solidarity, ready to fight for the rights of our members illegally fired from their jobs at …
Breaking News: Late last night Conde Nast illegally fired 4 union organizers who asked company execs to explain the downsizing of Teen Vogue and continued layoffs. We’ve filed a grievance.
Condé Nast's actions are in direct violation of our contracts and of labor law. Solidarity with our unjustly fired colleagues across the company. This is not over.
very excited for this man’s consigliere era
