It's a game full of aliens and they don't let me be an alien. That's videogame sin.

One of the most genius creature designs of all time. Startling and confusing, as all the best monsters are.

I often wonder if I'm good, or just too lazy to be evil?

I forbid you to look up this stupid deep deep cut, just stumble upon the truth someday.
Sketch of a man claiming he is "the dark spectre of food"
"I sensed there was mail."
Hail Hydra.
Marvel's gonna eat that mint one day..
I had a dream I was having French toast with Trent Reznor and since I had extra I couldn't eat, I gave the rest to him because he was still hungry.
I apologize for reminding everyone of the Mr. Creosote sketch, but I can think of no better metaphor.
Terry Jones as the bloated glutton Mr Creosote from Monty Python's The Meaning of Life.
"I wanna draw for video games/movies/comics/movies ABOUT comics when I grow up!"
RIP to generations of dreamers.
We artists aren't just fuel for the fire anymore, we're desperate chefs hoping the guests can all enjoy a taste before Mr. Creosote gets his hands on it.
Great to see the movies are staying so true to the comics:
Storylines not allowed to end, characters not allowed to die or find closure, no money paid to the original creators of said characters, artists treated as expendable resources
Just like the comics! ๐คช
I want whatever they'll give me for having Nidus prime, but I don't think they've added it yet ๐
Beast-Eater, my BOY. My MAN. My road dog. We've got the Ludwig and the Lawrence fight, you've got me, I've got you.
ET dying in a creek, from the film ET.
I also started taking magnesium because of too many stressful/tragic/horrific dreams, but here they are still.
Different designs for Gill-men, as seen in Creature from the Black Lagoon or Shape of Water
A sea goddess, covered in barnacles with multiple fins
A page from my fantasy graphic novel Serpent Song, depicting different races of creatures in a bustling city
My rendition of Tuunbaq, the supernatural creature from the AMC series The Terror

I'm Evan Thomas! I'm an illustrator, writer, professional monsterer. Monstrosity is divinity, is it not?
Read the old comic I made at Serpentsong.com or support my metabolism at patreon.com/ECTmonster
Thank you, won't you?
I still can't get over the fact that THIS was their idea of promotional sizzle. Who saw THIS and thought "Wow, adventure awaits!"
He made a movie about DREAMS and the visual feast consisted of "Buildings acting funny."
I don't expect this man's foray into fantasy to blow off my socks.
I'm calling it right now:
In Chris Nolan's The Odyssey, he'll make the cyclops a LotR cave troll with only one eye, Scylla will be just a GoT dragon with 6 heads, and Charybdis will just be a whirlpool.
Unfinished pencil drawing of Tank Girl
Delving through old sketchbooks and found this unfinished Tank Girl from college.
Made me jealous of my once-steady hand (nowadays I need cleanup and massive exposure/contrast adjustments to get lines like this).
I don't have the hands I used to.
But hey, we're going to the moon again, right?
Picture of Marjane Satrapi alongside a quote from her. The quote reads: The world is not divided into countries. The world is not divided between East and West. You are American, I am Iranian, we don't know each other, but we talk together and we understand each other perfectly. The difference between you and your government is much bigger than the difference between you and me. And the difference between me and my government is much bigger than the difference between me and you. And our governments are very much the same... - Marjane Satrapi, Iranian-French graphic novelist
Thinking about this quote from Persepolis creator Marjane Satrapi again.

Photo from the Artemis II of the earth from space with a crescent moon
With all the atrocities here on earth, all the Artemis II photos keep feeding my unhealthy urge to forsake all things and go live up on the shores of the Ocean of Death.
Biblically accurate Gozer
People keep whining that the Undertaker should be banned from Commander, but he's just so much fun.
I have an an awful predisposition to constrain characters within certain bounds, and I'm really pushing myself to break those rules.
I really wanna get better at goofiness that defies what I've done for the past few decades. It's tedious and fun!
While working on my cartoony comedy side-project, one thing I've had to come to terms with is that over the decades I haven't cultivated an instinct for cartoony faces/bodys/poses.
I'm having to build up a database from the folks I like that can teach me better distortion and expression.
