My only idea is making bans only for the enemy team.

Same system, 2 bans (maybe 3?) for each team, but only affecting the enemy team.

It could prevent dickhead behavior from egoists who think the only thing between them and Grandmaster, is Moira players.

I understand bans can help pad balance and increase player agency, but it does feel like a lot of people are just here to game the ban system.

I get wanting a strong team comp, but maybe talk with your team and strategize instead of punishing whoever dares to touch Moira, Lifeweaver, or Mercy.

The attitude around hero bans in Overwatch feels really power-trippy. I suppose I shouldn't be surprised by.. Gamers.

People would rather ban heroes they don't want to play with, than against. Forcing their own teammates onto a hero they're not as good on.

and it's a big reason i'll usually err on the side of Moderators in video games and video game communities.

Way too often do people make shit up, or excuse themselves for obviously unacceptable behavior.
