During my visit to the German Embassy in Brasília, I emphasized our commitment to deepen cooperation with Latin America, with Brazil as a key partner in science, innovation and climate research. I truly value the spirit of collaboration that drives this partnership.

Last night, we continued a tradition that dates back to 1977 — the famous Kohl and Pinkel party! This year's theme was medieval, filled with knights, dragons and magicians! The night was filled with laughter, legend, and a new Kohl Queen! 🏹⚔️ Read more at: www.fkf.mpg.de/8759364/2025...

We mourn the passing of Prof. Hans-Joachim Queisser (1931–2025), one of the founding directors of our institute. A pioneer of semiconductor physics and co-creator of the Shockley–Queisser limit, his vision shaped generations. We will remember him with deep gratitude. www.fkf.mpg.de/8744972/2025...

Robin Haunschild, Lutz Bornmann: Paper self-citation: An unexplored phenomenon https://arxiv.org/abs/2503.04324 https://arxiv.org/pdf/2503.04324 https://arxiv.org/html/2503.04324
found cases where paper self-citations occur due to publisher-made highlights promoting and citing the paper. We analyzed the self-citing papers according to selected metadata. We observed accumulations of the number of self-citing papers [3/4 of https://arxiv.org/abs/2503.04324v1]
across publication years. We found a skewed distribution across countries, journals, authors, fields, and document types. Finally, we discuss the implications of paper self-citations for bibliometric indicators. [4/4 of https://arxiv.org/abs/2503.04324v1]
