Because they don't want you to exist.

You better get moving because history shows that even with active and organized resistance, fascism can still take hold and the US has no where near that level of organized resistance

It's doing a shit ton of heavy lifting because I'm like who??? America was founded and lives off of theft.

Seriously amazing critique!! I'm sure there is a whole thesis in the institutionalization of community based care.

Because there are a shit ton of people who were added as part of DEI initiatives who are just as harmful as the hate we are trying to fight.

Not all skinfolk are kinfolk and letting white folks decided who are kinfolk was a doomed project from the start.

My critique of DEI is not about people putting unqualified people in positions, because that is clearly untrue.

My critique about DEI is uncritically putting people in positions without examining their actual views, values and whether their vision is in alignment with anti-oppressive values.

Zionists are pushing people into more and more polarized positions.

As if genocide want enough, they target people protesting genocide.

When they really should be reading the writing on the walls, that power isn't popular support and power does eventually fade.

And while I'm here talking about professors, there seems to be a couple of types.

Those who actually enjoy teaching and learning with their students.

And those who got their PhD and see teaching as their birthright and do it however they see fit. (Not usually well)

Why do profs turn the classroom and academia into the Hunger Games for students?

Do they think people can really produce their best under these conditions?

And ultimately that has a bunch to do with age and this party's inability to connect with younger progressive people who want/need so much more than the status quo crowd who were once the movers and shakers in the 90s, but can no longer pull the vote.

Regarding the Ontario NDP (and generally all progressive parties).

I have to wonder how much social media serves as the canary in the coal mine to these parties.

It's not the be all to end all, but the ONDP has been bleeding support, consistent with criticism on social media.

Genuine question for white people in North America, especially those with a few generations on this stolen land.

What is your culture and can you define it, and has it been passed down from where your ancestors came from?

This has me so fucked up with rage right now. I can honestly say that if a transphobe got in my face right now, they'd be walking away with a few less teeth.

I asked a question about where is the political activism in the US at the other place and immediately had dozens of white leftists saying how hard it was.

One (and I wish I were kidding) listed getting a dog-sitter as a barrier.

And, I cant

This is challenging, since I am the judgey type, but I also understand this too.

Revolution requires relation.

Good morning Blue sky. What has me up so early?

My therapist unknowingly opened a box and all the things I had neatly compartmentalized are out and dancing in my brain.

I went to a talk with him and Clinton ages ago, my main impression was that he wasn't informed, but if you removed him from his hideous politics, he was genuinely charming and likable.

Yeah, Indigenous peoples have known this forever.

Maybe y'all shouldn't have taken the land, or at the very least, listen to the Indigenous people to properly care for it.
