The Spanish government has announced today a broad regularisation programme which could benefit around 500.000 people.
At a time when a hostile environment against migrants is spreading on both sides of the Atlantic, this move shows both humanity and common sense.
The 🇪🇺 new anti-racism strategy? A missed opportunity to confront the structural violence lived by racialised communities. A flawed strategy that fails to protect is not a strategy at all. Our Policy Manager Julie Pascoet explains why in @euobserver.com 👉🏽

Why Europe Needs a Stronger Just Transition Policy Framework? Climate action must go hand-in-hand with social justice. Here’s what the latest Social Platform report reveals Image is the front cover illustration from the paper
what is the problem? Europe’s transition to a greener society is necessary, but also risks widening inequalities. Workers, low-income households, and marginalised groups could be left further behind, unless we enforce a just transition.
What a just transition must deliver... Social Platform calls for: Protection of social rights Reduction of poverty & inequality Quality jobs & reskilling Strong public & social services Affordable housing & clean energy
The knowledge exists. The urgency is clear. Now we need political will. The report calls for a Just Transition Framework with legally binding measures that aligns climate, social, and economic policies by ensuring all EU legislation protects both the planet and people.
A transition isn’t just if people are left behind.
As energy systems shift and living costs rise, fairness means supporting those most affected and giving communities a real voice. Our new report calls for a strong, legally binding EU Just Transition Framework www.socialplatform.org/documents/po...

To truly eradicate poverty, the EU needs concrete measures and binding action. That’s why the renewed call for adequate minimum income in the EMPL Committee report is a welcome step forward. However, this ambition must be backed up with sufficient resources. It’s essential that the next EU budget prioritises social investment and poverty reduction.
Ahead of the EU's first ever Anti-poverty Strategy coming next year, we welcome yesterday's @europarl.europa.eu EMPL Committee report outlining key priorities for eradicating poverty, including a call for adequate minimum income for all 🙌 #endpoverty #OverthePovertyLine
A post with the following text: "On this International Day of Persons with Disabilities we call on European Union Institutions to: - Strengthen funding for European and national organisations of persons with disabilities in the next MFF. - Reverse restrictions and ensure funding for civil society, including advocacy that protects citizens’ rights. - Boost civil society support: recommit to the ECBA Directive, monitor civic space, and protect Human Rights Defenders.
On International Day of Persons with Disabilites #IDPD, we denounce ongoing attacks on funding for civil society.
Adequate funding is key to this defending our rights.
We call on the EU and its countries to reverse this trend.
