RVs are becoming the housing of last resort for a growing number of Americans.
Nearly 500,000 Americans are living full time in an RV, around double the number four years ago.
I spent time with a few of them. Here are their stories.

President Donald Trump’s ambitious plan to broker dozens of trade deals with some of the United States’ closest trading partners has begun to show cracks as the clock on his 90-day pause for most country-specific tariffs winds down to just over one month.

We spent 6 months investigating a children’s pastor accused of being a serial rapist.
His accusers have spent 40 years fighting to stop him.
Today he works for disgraced televangelist Jim Bakker and runs a secluded camp for kids in the Ozarks.

So maybe "cheap baubles from China" shouldn't be the American dream. But for some of the people I have interviewed, being able to get your child a doll or afford a dresser for your kids to put clothes in at least gives them some sense of decency
They work very hard, but they can't buy a house with the big backyard, they can't go on the Disney cruise, they can't afford to send their kids to college. And they have jobs making good wages, they don't need more manufacturing jobs.
I just think of the people I've interviewed for stories who were struggling with housing costs, rising food costs, going to food banks and working multiple jobs. Being able to get your kid a little toy or buy them a new pair of shoes or have a nice Christmas is one of the few luxuries people had

"Maybe the children will have two dolls instead of 30, you know?" Trump said during a meeting with his Cabinet. "And maybe the two dolls will cost a couple of bucks more than they would normally."

Bessent says on CNBC that China will come to the table because tariffs are "unsustainable" for China and its whole business model is based on selling cheap goods to the U.S.
But China has been moving away from the US. Now, 15% of its exports go to US and about 3% of GDP comes from US exports.
Unlike most presidents, Trump has traveled little in his first 100 days.
He has spent 12 of the 14 weekends at one of his own properties. On 9 of those, he has overnighted at Mar-a-Lago, where he can often be found playing golf www.nbcnews.com/politics/don... by @natashakorecki.bsky.social
