Bad Bunny with a powerful anti-ICE speech at the Grammys 🔥🔥🔥🔥
"Before I say thanks to God, I’m going to say ‘ICE out.’ We’re not savages, we’re not animals, we’re not aliens. We are humans and we are Americans."

Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) endorsed Analilia Mejia for Congress in NJ-11.
Proud to announce that @sanders.senate.gov is endorsing our campaign for Congress!
I worked with Bernie in 2020 for the same reasons I'm running now: to un-rig the economy and make it work for working people, not billionaires and corporations.
A better world is possible. Let's win this.
Don't Buy Starbucks! At any location, today and beyond, while workers are on ULP strike!
As of this morning, Starbucks workers across the country are officially ON STRIKE. And we're prepared for this to become the biggest and longest ULP strike in Starbucks history.
Say #NoContractNoCoffee with us: DON'T BUY STARBUCKS for the duration of our open-ended ULP strike! $SBUX
Two years ago yesterday, I was SO happy to see and hear Dr Goodall at Brooklyn’s Kings Theater. And for a spell, I became the little girl mesmerized by her presence, her vision and her call for humans to be better. The world needs more heroes like her. Rest well, Dr Jane Goodall.
NJ’s 2025 General Election will decide our state’s priorities for years to come.
Whether you plan to vote by mail, in-person during early voting, or on Election Day, we hope that racial and social justice, civil rights, and civil liberties are at the forefront of your mind as you cast your ballot.
Decades of research have found that acetaminophen is safe for children when administered as recommended. Misleading claims link the medicine to autism. These false claims send a dangerous message to parents and does a disservice to autistic individuals. www.aap.org/en/news-room...

This Supreme Court order puts people at grave risk, allowing federal agents in Southern California to target individuals because of their race, how they speak, the jobs they work, or just being at a bus stop or the car wash when ICE agents decide to raid a place.
Elie Mystal: Here’s my write up on today's racist Supreme Court decision. The court approved of Trump’s racial profiling of Latinos with Brett Kavanaugh saying being harassed based on the color of your skin is “common sense.” www.thenation.com/article/soci...
In a massive victory for Harvard University, a federal judge ruled Wednesday that the Trump administration violated Harvard’s First Amendment rights and federal law when it froze nearly $2 billion in federal grants because of the Ivy League school's handling of antisemitism on campus.
Trump's masked agents aren't keeping us safe-they're just terrorizing immigrant communities. PROPORTION OF IMMIGRANTS TAKEN BY ICE, BY CRIMINAL RECORD 7% violent convictions 28% no violent convictions 65% no convictions ICE isn't going after criminals. It's breaking up families.
AMA: Congress moves health care in wrong direction
It's a sad & harmful day for patients & health care across the U.S., & its impact will reverberate for years. This bill moves us in the wrong direction. It will make it harder to access care & make patients sicker because the lifelines of Medicaid & CHIP are severed. http://spr.ly/633284mR2n
“The election is 16 months away. Our response to the worst piece of legislation in modern American history cannot be ‘go vote in 16 months.’” - @ezralevin.bsky.social with @weeknightmsnbc.bsky.social
SOTOMAYOR, J., dissenting adjudicating this case. But if this Court wishes to permit the Government to flout the fundamental rights guaranteed by the Due Process Clause, it cannot avoid accountability for that lawlessness by tasking the lower courts with inventing a rationale. The Court's continued refusal to justify its extraordinary decisions in this case, even as it faults lower courts for failing properly to divine their import, is indefensible. * "In a democracy, power implies responsibility. The greater the power that defies law the less tolerant can this Court be of defiance. As the Nation's ultimate judicial tri-bunal, this Court, beyond any other organ of society, is the trustee of law and charged with the duty of securing obedience to it." Mine Workers, 330 U.S., at 312 (Frankfurter, J., concurring in judgment). This Court continues to invert those principles. Today's order clarifies only one thing: Other litigants must follow the rules, but the administration has the Supreme Court on speed dial. Respectfully, I dissent.
NEW: SCOTUS shoots down a federal judge’s effort to protect eight men from being expelled—without due process—to South Sudan, where they face torture and death.
Dissenting, Sotomayor says the court’s “indefensible” decision makes it complicit in “lawlessness.” www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/24p...

Screenshot of a press release from AFL-CIO President Liz Shuler and Secretary-Treasurer Fred Redmond: "The nearly 15 million working people of the AFL-CIO and our affiliated unions demand the immediate release of California Federation of Labor Unions Vice President and SEIU California and SEIU-USWW President David Huerta. As the Trump administration’s mass deportation agenda has unnecessarily targeted our hard-working immigrant brothers and sisters, David was exercising his constitutional rights and conducting legal observation of ICE activity in his community. He was doing what he has always done, and what we do in unions: putting solidarity into practice and defending our fellow workers. In response, ICE agents violently arrested him, physically injuring David in the process, and are continuing to detain him—a violation of David’s civil liberties and the freedoms this country holds dear. The labor movement stands with David and we will continue to demand justice for our union brother until he is released."

UPDATE: David Huerta has been released from the hospital but remains in custody.
His words: "We all collectively have to object to this madness because this is not justice. This is injustice."
Free David Huerta. Free them ALL.
David is the kind of union leader we need - unapologetic in standing up for workers and our communities. Use your networks to bring light to injustice and stand with immigrant workers and brother Huerta! If they come for one of us, they come for all of us. #seiu #unionproud
I don’t see how, unless our entire profession stands shoulder-to-shoulder in unity, we successfully push back against this effort to break our profession and our democracy.
Cowering & compromising won’t work. He is attacking us for the success of our work.

“And to everyone who is watching all of this unfold, don't be scared. Fight back.”
Among the material devastation to everyday people, Senate Dems have now blown a hole in their ability to work with the House.
We had an agreed upon plan, House took immense risk, then Senate turned around midway and destroyed it w/ a fear-based, inexplicable abdication.
They own what happens next.
The President left out "for the wealthy' when talking about the tax cuts he supports. His proposals, which are included in the House budget resolution, cut taxes for the top 1% and pay for it by cutting food assistance and Medicaid. #CBPPJointAddress
All the folks who exited NBC today. Seen together, hoo boy. Message received.
House Republicans are preparing a budget package that calls for $2 trillion in cuts to Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid.
That’s TRILLION.
With a T.
This is incredibly transparent
Trump just revoked the Equal Employment Opportunity executive order of 1965, rolling back 60 years of progress on civil rights.
The order had prohibited employment discrimination in federal hiring based on race, religion, and gender.
“She was nasty in tone, and not compelling or smart,” Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social.
So what exactly sparked Trump’s ire?
“May I ask you to have mercy, Mr. President, on those in our communities whose children fear that their parents will be taken away?” the Bishop said.
