I went cowboy gunslinger and Codex did a terrible merge. Fooled me once.

One question to ask a coder is, what are you unsure about?

Damn, this is gonna be harder than it sounds

Rise of the Cowboy Coder — The Jolly Coder The nerds are mad about vibe code, but they should build guardrails instead of gates. Help us build good software, not just write code.

Coding assistants are creating a new wave of coders.

Instead of fighting them, we should build better tools and higher abstractions that make it easier to build software without ever looking at code.

ChatGPT just admitted to me why it uses em-dashes.

Apparently it's "rhythm"

If I remember correctly, the ancestor record isn't actually fetched from the server or anything, but is reconstructed based on the record you tried to save and the record the server has. There might be a local cache involved as well, but I'm not sure. That might explain the behavior you're seeing.

I forget all the rules for the ancestor record, but it sounds like you've done some sleuthing into this.

GitHub - timimahoney/otter-log: A hopefully good log viewer. A hopefully good log viewer. Contribute to timimahoney/otter-log development by creating an account on GitHub.

Just open-sourced the code for a little log viewer I wrote a while back.

Some interesting parts:

- Strange performance hacks for parallel filtering of hundreds of thousands of logs
- SPI usage that's about to get me in trouble
- Funky query filter UI shenanigans

Damn, I love the lighting and shading in this one. The sphere, the wrinkles, the legs, everything.

A strange figure that appears to be wearing some sort of cloak or blanket. Only its legs are visible; the rest of it is covered by lumpy, clothlike material. The back of it is illuminated by a bright pink light, while the front of it is illuminated by a bioluminescent green light. Where its face would be is a round, glassy mask like that on a diver's helmet. No facial features are visible. The figure stands against a yellow-gold background. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman".
