Creep introduced me to Radiohead, OK Computer, Kid A, and Amnesiac made me a lifelong fan. I've lost count of how many times I've bought OK Computer because every time we've moved into a new place, the copy usually doesn't make it.

For those unaware of the sheer marketing genius that was 90s Volkswagen, I present this relic: youtu.be/KmQvOT1Sxkg?...
it took us 6 months, and our Ford going out in a blaze of glory, but we bought our first SUV as a family. We bought a 2019 VW Atlas SE!
I paid my first tariffs on a foreign order today! Granted they were only $2.80, but still it had to be done.
What did I get, you ask? Why, the new Shadowcast Pro from Genki.
Everywhere I have gone on vacation since I graduated high school nearly 35 years ago has been by car, bus or train. It is increasingly likely we will be moving so I can train to be a watchmaker, and I fear that a jump straight to international travel as a autistic person, will be catastrophic. Cont>
The problem with buying the watch is of course, tariffs. With the orange shitgibbon threatening them again to the EEA over this stuff; I expect the $5,000 budget that will be accumulated over the next 18 months won't be enough for the ones I really want.
A large part of me finally wants to make the flight to a major FGC tournament in August, but the smaller part of me who wants to buy a high horology watch is winning the fight to stay home and accomplish that task
Preorder has been paid for the Switch 2 version of Animal Crossing. I can't wait to check it out next week and put even more time in the game
I'm excited to get my sleep schedule back on track! The last two days has garnered me a whopping 8 hours of sleep total because I didn't have my sleeping pills.
I have them again.
Braums is a regional fast food chain, not unlike chains such as Cook Out, or even White Castle. It's closest competitor of a chain that immediately comes to mind (at least for me) is that of In-N-Out.
Had to travel for Q1 doctor's appointments today. The last time I visited my hometown (where my doctor conveniently is) was in early November last year for a 5K walk. One of the noteworthy TexMex places had closed their doors about 3 months before that, and a Braums sprung up in it's ruins!
So, since the last post I've done the following:
Spent six days in the hospital w/spouse for sepsis treatment
Largely taken over the household budget while spouse gets better
Woke up twice at 3am by lab techs arguing
Celebrated the end of 2025
It's one of them days ... and I'm trying my hardest to not make it personal.
(If you got the song stuck in your head, maybe it's okay?)
Hm.
I also check BSky once a week.
As a semi-personal mention, the domain that's in my profile has a *gasp* actual blog site on it! I try to write at least 3x weekly, as it's been a great help and a escape from our current ordeal.
day 9 caretaker check:
Have lost sanity more than once (then it comes back)
Listened to ungodly amounts of music and podcasts
have NOT destroyed a toilet with unending poo
She will have the rest of 2025 off due to treatment scheduling.
We will figure things out somehow. We’ve always been resilient, no matter the test.
We have a meeting with the oncology staff in a week to discuss her ADA accommodations when she returns to work in January.
She’s gonna be close on her FMLA time, but we’ve put the pieces in place to go from short-term disability to ADA in very short order.
So, a bit of a update (I normally have bsky locked down for the sake of my mental health):
Wife has cancer, and despite our insurance being very good we’re still having to come out of pocket for essential supplies relating to her treatments.

For those curious as to my PC setup:
Ryzen 7 7900X
64gb RAM @ 6000Mhz
Gen 5 M.2 storage
Radeon 7900XTX
I did get Borderlands 4, against my better judgment. Initial testing on my gaming PC had some dips below 60fps with FSR on, frame gen off.
I’m gonna do some further testing during the day tomorrow and some this weekend concerning UE5 limitations on PC.
Specs will be in the next skeet.
Been busy this week between appts for myself and the missus.
Next week is the BIG week.
Got my first ever GBVS top 8 last night in a beginner's bracket. Won the Anila mirror, then lost to Wilnas and Lancelot. Lancelot game went last game last round last interaction.
Granted, it was a 11-person bracket but we do take those!
As the course of the day followed, we eventually found out that POTUS was headed to Barksdale AFB, and the rest is history.
The town I lived in at the time (which was near my hometown) was about a hour from base. In the months following, I would find myself in Utah; running from myself.
in 2001, I was still living with my mom (who's no longer with us). She came in and woke me up, saying "something's going on". We both sat down and saw the aftermath of Tower 1 being struck, then watched Tower 2 get struck live on I think it was CNN.
On this September 11th, I'd like to share how I found out the Twin Towers were hit.
Thread continues below.
It took 3+ months, but I finally have all the gameplay stuff for Mario Kart World unlocked! I will eventually go back for the remaining costumes and all that, but it's finally time for it to be uninstalled off the Switch 2.
Gonna start Kirby and the Forgotten Land next, then play the DLC.
(for those unaware, I suffer from very severe anxiety issues, and have suffered those issues the entirety of my adult life).
I intentionally limit my news intake, plus social media (minus Discord) to a very large extent.
This is why I post something maybe twice a week, sometimes more than that.
