I remember hearing “You may be early, but you’re not wrong" re: COVID via @jessicawildfire.bsky.social—and it’s stuck with me like a mantra ever since.

Being offline all day and coming to news that the fascists took an L was not on my bingo card, but I do love it.
Been intrigued by Divinuet for a while now - any chance us console-bound folks will get to experience?
That does not help with my recurrent whim of re-adding a Tele to my ensemble. Stunning finish.
I met a sweet hound today who let me pet him, it was amazing. And then a bird pooped on me. The wonders of existence never cease.

Just for the record, the UK entering the war on Iran is despicable. @labouruk.bsky.social is continuing to show they are totally unfit to run the country.
I’ve had the privilege of recording stuff with fantastic musicians, orchestras, top dollar software & hardware, and I can still remember making good (ish) music with a busted old guitar and a barely functioning tape recorder. AI is a continued scourge and I call bullshit on Suno in perpetuity.
Guess it’s back to humming tunes into a tape recorder and hoping that’ll sound close enough.
The first general election I voted in, our constituency went Green and @carolinelucas.bsky.social became the UK’s first Green MP. It was a time of genuine hope. I’ve got that feeling again with @zackpolanski.bsky.social, which is why I joined @greenparty.org.uk and I urge you to as well.
Watching from the outside, I can only marvel at the bravery of the citizens of Minneapolis for standing in the face of real terror. No one should have to hold the line like this, especially not against their own government.
Was reminiscing about favourite gigs earlier, so took a rare opportunity to listen to Opeth - Blackwater Park from start to finish for the first time since I’ve had a decent studio and WOW that record is fantastic.
Pick up nearest book. Turn to page 42, post the second sentence.

When you’re chronically ill, the holidays hit different.
They’re exhausting, isolating and lonely.
It’s important to set and hold boundaries.
Make your own traditions and find ways to cultivate joy.

Do you ever get that thing where you come back after long enough and it feels like somebody else wrote it?
I feel like I've been struggling to articulate this for years, but I just figured it out: Musicians that can read music/are classically trained are wizards, and musicians that can't read music/learned by ear are sorcerers.
If it’s respiratory in nature and method of spread, surely a basic FFP2/N95+ mask protocol would do something to control the spread? That, plus a clean air infrastructure overhaul? Absolute nonsense to declare defeat without even trying given these incredibly simple measures.

I very much hate this news.
WHN graphic with a light background and faint photo of a white respirator. whn.global logo at top left. Pink subtitle: “Yes, We Continue Wearing Masks — Here’s Why: Common Questions Answered.” Large headline: “If you’re wearing a mask, why should I?” Body text: “Two-way masking protects everyone better than one-way masking for one simple reason: source control. Your mask reduces what you exhale (source control) and what you inhale (personal protection). Because many infections spread silently and not everyone can mask all the time, masking together sharply lowers risk, for you and for the people around you.” Footer line: “The World Health Network is a network devoted to global compassion—working together to inspire collective action through science for a safer, healthier world.”
Same WHN layout and respirator background. Pink subtitle: “Yes, We Continue Wearing Masks — Here’s Why: Common Questions Answered.” Large headline: “Won’t constant masking weaken your immunity?” Answer in bold text: “No. Masks don’t block all microbes, and our immune systems still get plenty of stimulation from daily life.” Footer with WHN mission sentence.
Same WHN layout and respirator background. Pink subtitle: “Yes, We Continue Wearing Masks — Here’s Why: Common Questions Answered.” Large headline: “I thought masks don’t work?” Body text: “They do, but only when used correctly, and not all ‘masks’ are created equal. The physics is clear: well-fitted respirators (N95/FFP2 or better) cut what you breathe out and what you breathe in. Confusion often comes from studies that used loose surgical/medical masks, allowed people to take masks off while exposed, or mixed very different mask types and fits, conditions that blur the true benefit.” Footer with WHN mission sentence.
Same WHN layout and respirator background. Pink subtitle: “Yes, We Continue Wearing Masks — Here’s Why: Common Questions Answered.” Large headline: “I think kids need to ‘train’ their immune systems. Aren’t you preventing that?” Body text: “A child’s immune system doesn’t need to encounter dangerous pathogens to develop. Everyday exposure to common microbes in the environment is enough ‘training.’” Footer with WHN mission sentence.
“Isn’t the pandemic over?” “Aren’t you done with masks yet?” “But you’re not high-risk!”
This Q&A provides evidence-based responses to these and other common objections, offering insight into why we still mask, filter the air and open windows—knowledge we’ve gained and continue to put into practice
My gateway to enjoying squash soup was to cook it with Thai red curry paste and coconut milk. A little sweet potato in there too is great.
Fair enough. Moral bankruptcy is a choice, but you can keep it for yourself.
An attack on benefits, anti-immigration pandering to Reform, and a refusal to tax the super rich at the cost of working families?
Honestly, this version of Labour already destroyed itself. Completely at odds with the core tenets of what the party stands for.
