I'd really need to see video of this incident to know whether these are legit misdemeanor charges or if it's law enforcement overreach. The "smirked" in the police report tells me it's almost certainly the latter.

In the moment a bunch of these decisions made sense and some were even exciting, but now...

Feels like the Falcons just liked Smith as a fit better than Ruke, and vice versa. Two teams that had very different power structures when they made those picks hoping for the healing power of the vaunted change of scenery

Honestly this trade is a wash for both sides. Ruke gives the Jags flexibility in the draft when it comes to adding DT depth, Maason Smith gets a fresh start

Feels to me like they're trading upside for (what they probably view as) a higher floor player with a little more size, unless they simply soured on Orhorhoro for other reasons.

Weird timing

Atlanta had 8 picks in 2024, 3 are no longer on the team (Orhorhoro, McClellan, Louge). 1 has never taken a snap due to injury (Trice). Washington and Bertrand are likely on the bubble this year. Penix hasn’t proven he’s the guy. Dorlus is the only success story. Brutal.
