I will be more interested when they make this about prosthetics instead of robots. Show me robotics for humans, not robots in the place of humans doing human things, for the love of god

Things I took to heart growing up which haven't served me well: "If something's worth doing it's worth doing well."
Sometimes done is enough.
"If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all."
If you want things to change, you need to say something. More as they pop up. Possibly.
Tag a female friend who believes in kindness, fairness, and standing up for others.
If every one of us brings just one more woman with us, we’ll get there.
Every signature makes it harder to ignore what so many women in the UK are saying clearly: trans+ people deserve support, dignity, and safety.
BBC News is going very hard on its investigation into advisers who help people ‘fake’ asylum claims, focusing especially on people who falsely claim to be gay. But it doesn’t say what percentage of claims are made on the basis of sexuality. As of 2023 — the last available figures — it was 3%.
Yeah my parents neighbours put food out in their garden which the kites have taken a liking too so they're close over/in my parents garden a lot. Unsettling is the correct word!
It’s infuriating when a woman comes forward about a man raping her in his hotel room after drinking and the response is “Why would she go to his room?” “Why would she drink with him?” This is Mike Pence logic. Women should be allowed to hang out with men without expecting they will be raped.
"keep thinking about how I wrote in my dissertation about how every time a new form of public/social space emerges it’s immediately popular with kids and teenagers who see it as a chance at freedom and then adults colonise it and kick them out. this happened with malls in the 80s and diners in the 50s and pool halls in the 20s. my dad was doing research on this trend in like 1975. and I was like “yeah so this is going to happen to the internet” and then five years later every government suddenly decided to ban kids from everywhere online. I hate being right especially when I don’t even get paid for it"

Yes Arran is lovely! Though the cycle ride around it is not as easy as they made out (our hired bikes were pretty average too).

A wide stream of rippled water cuts across a golden sand beach, flowing out to sea, on the side of of small bay, cut between rocky headlands. In the foreground black sediment forms intricate, sweeping patterns.
More coastal magic from #Lewis last November: on the north west coast, the small, but perfectly formed beach inlet of Bagh Dhail Beag. Sediment from a freshwater stream leaves behind stunning patterns at low tide.

You wouldn't trust JD Vance with a tenner to go to Pret and get your lunch, would you. You wouldn't ask him to watch your kids for a couple of hours either. Just a ghastly, hollow marionette fashioned out of elbow skin and broken toilet seats.

Am I the only person who's ever heard of this or have you all been enjoying it and not telling me? Two series, either side of COVID; Joe Wilkinson, Sue Johnston, Diane Morgan, Bobby Ball, Nigel Havers. Well observed, beautifully written & well acted cringe comedy about a family on the Isle of Wight
It should be against the law for any short story in a short story collection to be too uncomfortably long to read in bed before going to sleep.
We're in a bizarre place at the moment where we can't access necessary timely support via the public sector yet papers run articles weekly insinuating there's a rush for autism & ADHD diagnoses to claim all sorts of benefits & special privileges that simply don't exist.

Not sure what this normies stuff is about but if you haven't noticed nice ladies do a lot of the activist work in this country and have since the abolitionist movement, you maybe should.

This is the sort of thing schoolchildren and teachers know and it’s very satisfying when you learn it. To remember which is a Dromedary and which a Bactrian camel, look at the first letters on their side.
I've still not quite recovered from meeting my mother at Waterloo station years ago and asking if her nose was okay, as she had a bandage on it. "Yes, fine, thank you, just had a bit of skin cancer cut out."
Headline in today's Broadcast "Gary Barlow takes Jason Manford to New Zealand for ITV Travelogue" feels like the last straw.

Biological men denied female-only spaces will do their all to destroy them The Daily Telegraph24 Mar 2026Suzanne Moore Activists from Trans Kids Deserve Better staging a protest outside the Girlguiding UK headquarters in London earlier this year WE all know the scenario where two small children are playing and one snatches a toy from the other and they start fighting. An adult comes along, takes the toy away and says: “If you can’t learn to share, neither of you can play with the truck.” One of the children feels that they have been unfairly treated. Neither child is happy. This is where we are on the issue of single-sex spaces for women. The law that was clarified by the Supreme Court last April said clearly that sex in legal terms under the Equality Act meant biological sex. In the debate that has raged around it, there has been an insane focus on toilets, but the ruling is about more than that. Women are entitled to single-sex spaces – and not only should our big institutions ensure that this is facilitated, but our smaller social organisations should do so too. This includes organisations actually set up for women, such as the Girl Guides, the Women’s Institute, the Ladies’ Pond at Hampstead Heath, a female boxing club… all should be what they say on the tin. For women only. This should be straightforward. Somehow, though, chaos has ensued. This is partly because the Women and Equalities minister, Bridget Phillipson, has refused to lay out guidance from the Equality and Human Rights Commission, and partly because organisations, often under the sway of a minority of trans activists, say that unless biological men (trans women) are allowed into women’s spaces, they will basically destroy them. If someone says no to tantruming men, if women won’t hand over the toys, then no one can have the toys. ‘What are we now saying to girls? You have no right to privacy? There’s no place you can go where men are not allowed?’ Take, for instance, the boxing course that wa
