HOW did I miss preordering this I NEED ONE

Four people died over Easter weekend on our roads, all under 31 years old. Two more people were killed crossing Lafayette, after someone was seriously injured a week prior. Pedestrian fatalities are up significantly year-to-date. We need more resources and urgency for Vision Zero, not less

Another example of exactly what we all said was being done and would continue to be done using LPRs. They're functioning & being used as designed.

Any politician who attempts to or votes to implement LPRs in 2026 is complicit in stalking, harassment and kidnapping of our neighbors.

5 new benches downtown! (3 of them pictured below). Thank you to everyone who joined us. A beautiful day for our library to reopen and for more seating for everyone. We will not rest until everyone has the right to rest! We will not stop until the dozens of benches removed downtown are reinstalled.

Surveillance is a one-way ratchet toward authoritarianism. Yes, even by private companies. Even when people “consent.” Even when the company gives you “free” stuff, or let you stand in a shorter line, or make your life more convenient somehow.

We're about to see a big license plate reader push via MNPD budget request & everyone better get on board with fighting it. We're one of the last major cities in the country to have held off mass implementation of LPRs. If you give a shit about yourself, your kids & other people, you'll fight this.

this article misses the mark in every way possible. the reporter only speaking to the council member who helped get the benches on KVB removed is certainly... a choice.

But, best of luck to those still trying that strategy. Would love to see it succeed, particularly with the mayor who was largely elected based on issues & initiatives that many of us (including you) have poured massive amounts of labor into.

I would be delighted to see the push for more & for accountability behind the scenes & through the channels deemed proper by the powers that be work. In my experience, that usually doesn't do much to move politicians-the public pushing does. If the former worked, many of us would still be doing it.

Number one of a list of bad ones isn't saying much. Rather than wait & see I prefer to push for what we want. That's the point of electing someone who seems to align with your priorities- to hold them accountable. If we don't push them, they capitulate to the most powerful voices, as we've seen.

True, a bike hostile mayor might do something like... watch a downtown bike lane be removed and do nothing about it.

Absolutely!! we post our bench parties on our IG account (@abench4everyone) and we try to post on here as well! We haven't set a date yet but BOLO for the next one!
