But limiting participation in a sport based on something assigned at birth is absurd on every level. Like, what does birth have to say about Steph Curry's potential in the NBA?

Because of this variety, we're able create new sports (all the time): new body type, new type of competition. So, personally, I'm always happy for new sports and new rules in old sports. It generally means more people get to compete at higher levels and in more ways.

Okay so sports, like gender, are constructed.

And the underlying assumption that makes sports interesting and competitive is that physical characteristics vary largely from person to person.
