What not to do this weekend in New York

I was thinking the same thing about cats I have known!! A weirdly jarring notion for there to be a dark one.
Once again, it all should have ended in January 2017, when he began openly monetizing his hotel, blocks from the White House, in plain sight.

My first essay for Flaming Hydra is called “Cats and Mice.” It is about the Brothers Grimm, yes, but above all about war, and about the state in which we gradually grow used to war until it no longer shocks us.

at least that long for me too... still miss getting to play Scrabble with my old mates every day (but worth it)
quit Facebook!!!!!
NEW: Meta co-sponsored a celebration with the Daily Wire for podcaster Isabel Brown, who often foments about Islam and wants to "save the West," which is an interesting, cocktail-party-level look at the company's rightward pivot www.motherjones.com/politics/202...
to make the mixtape for your crush was the work of many days and the most painstaking design and penmanship!!
'come over and listen to records' was this whole thing
Sir Leo is breathtakingly handsome
ok, just saying this particular consumer does not seem to have fared real well over the last 20 years
The rhetorical purpose of an underbelly is that it is SOFT and thus vulnerable, there is nothing wrong with a dark underbelly
Wow! (he was already super gross politically but) eating roadkill is obviously terrible for you
@bowiesongs.bsky.social "Stunning" an understatement
I appreciate your perspectives a lot (cf. www.cjr.org/special_repo...)
It's all true at once, pros and cons for archiving, storage, distribution, manufacture, recording itself, etc. What I can't abide is license-only terms, i.e. books and music that can be shut off by bad actors
Exactly. He had a bully pulpit like nothing I'd ever seen all my life. Really hurts to think about it.
My jaw has never really quite unclenched since those days.
My second piece for @flaminghydra.com is out! About how the themes of watching and being watched have been haunting me alongside my obsession with reality TV, and about Lior Torenberg's debut, Just Watch Me (from @avidreaderpress.bsky.social):

Fake it til you faceplant
Elizabeth Holmes yodeling, near tears, 'don't you *care* about changing the *world*
I had to cover these clowns for years and this is a perfect summary of how they operate. They simply cannot conceive of a world where they're not code-crushing gods, even as their products die on the market and the "naysayers" turn out to be right.
for sure, I read and liked the essay and I also think it's absurd that media is not focusing on the fact that monopolistic distributors mean to own all content and that's insanely dangerous, both politically and culturally
Always read @ilanaslightly.bsky.social.
Ownership
come on you guys
Except their job is not to win, it's to prevent leftists from taking office, and they've been pretty effective at that
I am very tired of seeing professional democrats blame people who criticized them for their failures. If you were any good at your jobs you’d have won.
You might not wish to choose what to read or write but I do. And my colleagues at @flaminghydra.com and I will continue to produce human writing for those who prefer it
It's a sign of a failed society when it continues to platform people who consistently get big things wrong. We should not still be subjected to most of the people writing Op-Eds at the New York Times who spent DECADES getting everything about war AND peace wrong.
I remember Obama saying he read Brooks.
Hype flees before him, changes its name and emigrates to South America, never to be seen again
ahaha there is no 'Ross Douthat hype' but I'd be laughing my head off if there were any, believe you me
