The year is 2062. Advances in medical science have "solved" aging. Functional immortality is made mandatory for all of working age. The NWG passes a new law to allow people to purchase their own deaths. The average worker must work for 312 years to afford the privilege of dying.
The year is 2038. The Squirrel War is over. Humanity won, but at a terrible cost. 40% of the population was wiped out. The New World Government has banned contraception and abortion. People must also purchase reproduction licences. Also the price of daycare has quadrupled.
The year is 2035. Personal ownership of fridges is outlawed. Fridges are rented & must be connected to the internet to function & you must watch 2 minutes of ads to open them. Every time.
Also, humanity has entered its 3rd year of war with the Squirrel Alliance. We are losing.

Book recommendation videos are wild. I've just seen someone posting 10 'underrated' fantasy books and 3 of the books listed were Malice, Red Rising, and Sword of Kaigan... I love all 3 books, but they are pretty much the definition of highly rated.
