It gets worse: No 10 also tried to get Matthew Doyle - a close friend of Mandelson - a job working for him in DC.
Remember - Doyle was asked by PM to investigate Mandelson's responses about links to Jeffrey Epstein & concluded he was "satisfied".
A *clear* conflict of interests.

Forest when they came up. They're still in the Premier League so it worked by that measure.
No more shite about fatigue. This is about desire and tactics.
The government ought to be honest about why this is bad (terrible) policy. I think their silence is bad, but this is so much worse.. the populist bandwagon rolls on... are there any fiscal conservatives out there?
On this day in 2025, Wor Flags' canvas expanded outside of St. James' Park. What a weekend! 🖤🤍
Reviewer 2 got me good.
Yeah, British politics is simple. You just need to improve public services without any meaningful tax increases, reduce immigration without any labour market impacts, and deliver growth and you'll be hugely successful.
Dana-nana-nana-nana-GLASMAN!
@dorianlynskey.bsky.social describes how Maurice Glasman, the driving force behind Blue Labour thinks of himself as a 'Dark Knight' character. A Labour Batman, if you will. @iandunt.bsky.social won't.

They've went up £5.
Any rationale provided from the club on the increased ticket price?
Best one yet.
The Doomsday Machine that is our university funding system will destroy everything in the end. First it destroys individual lives, then social mobility, then most universities, followed by the structure of income tax and the pension system. In the end it could threaten to destroy the economy itself.
that’s not very free speech-y

There was no state? Who killed him, then?
This is what bothers me. I'm surrounded by green belt. People think it's the green belt that makes it a nice place to live - it isn't at least not directly. It's the density that makes it a walkable area with shops, restaurants, and pubs. Density is the key - whether you're in a city or the burbs.
Our convenor, @lauragraham86.bsky.social, is speaking at a research event in France. Laura is a project partner on 'droits et politiques du travail sexuel 2026', a research/action initiative on improving European laws and policies on sex work. It is funded by l'Agence Nationale de la Recherche.
Hollow laughter
Could someone smarter than me explain how the Greens reconcile their 'come one, come all' immigration policy with their 'build absolutely nothing anywhere near anything' housing policy?
Switching 2p from National Insurance to Income Tax would bring the rate of tax paid by pensioners closer to that paid by working-age people.
Even so, pensioners with incomes below £40,000 would still be better off next year than this year, due to upcoming increases to the state pension age ⤵️
Increasingly I think one has to accept that a chunk of the Labour party is ideologically committed to an anti-enterprise, pro-losing position.

I will die on this hill.
