pokemon are designed for merch- simple repetitive shapes, minimal details/accessories, etc. they look like dumb baby toys to me but they're easier to remember and make fanart of.
digimon on the other hand is just whatever the devs and artists thought looked cool and yeah, often more believable.
the only reason you'd always be a failure at something is if you spend more time trying to prove you aren't a failure than asking others for help and taking advice so you can improve at it.

3 often comes before 2 since it's a lot harder to come up with plans with or care what someone has to say when you're in pain. i just put them in order of importance.
minor mistakes often don't need the full gamut. like if you bump into somebody on the street and cause no injury or property damage, an 'i'm sorry' is probably fine. but if you cause someone a lot of emotional hurt, you're gonna need to do the full 3 for them to want to keep being around you.
a good apology has three parts;
1. taking responsibility for and acknowledging the mistake, and the hurt caused by it (literally saying you're sorry)
2. creating and sharing a plan to prevent the mistake from happening again
3. restitution/'making it up to' the person you hurt so they feel better
maybe tomorrow?

i just thing it was misogyny- sort of a turning point in history where you were 'allowed' for the first time to acknowledge that females can do things other than cook/clean/be pretty, but we hadn't quite gotten to the point of no longer thinking they were SUPPOSED to only be good at those things.

i do wish the dub had gone with 'ribbitmon' or something cuz of this, but gekkomon didn't exist back then so *shrug*
'geko' is the sound a frog makes in japanese, so that's why the frog-like digimon is gekomon. 'gekko' on the other hand is a pun between an actual species of asian gecko, and moonlight (which is why gekkomon has a moon on its forhead). the names look more distinct in japanese.
would you like to be educated on why their names are like that?
i can imagine few things more frustrating than watching someone struggle, fail, and burn themselves over and over while SCREAMING 'let me help you!' only to have them get pissed off and lash out at you cuz they never take your offer/listen to you
