I'm really not sure if it's just a local phenomenon or what, but the latest "batch" of newcomer furries are some of the most obnoxious, self important, "tourist" folks imaginable.

Most have like no character, little interest in anthro, and seem to be using the fandom as a hookup app. I hate it.

This is why even though we really want to get a membership, we don't have one. Love the concept, but the parking lot is always a nightmare and nobody understands how to stay to one side of the aisle indoors.

Extremely true. Even in my IT position, I've absorbed ~2 to 3 people's entire workloads, ALL their systems, as well as projects. No increase in pay, higher expectations, and shorter deadlines.

Man, every now and then I get really nostalgic and wonder where certain friends who completely vanished from the fandom are now, and what / how they are doing. Folks who were good friends and for one reason or another "quit" the fandom.

Even formerly "cheap affordable" options like tacos and Chinese food has gotten crazy. Tacos used to be like 2.50 ea tops, now 5.50+. Chinese lunch specials went from 6-8 to 10-12. Indian food joints charging 7 dollars for rice, and not including it with the meal.

This is pretty much my take. If it walks like a scammer, talks like a scammer, it's *probably* a scammer.

At the very most I would give an ultimatum. "Look, I can't go back and forth with this and will not be doing delivery. Please pick up the truck with cash in hand by Sat, or it's relisted"

Seeing a review online by a "Yelp Elite" who says they "know what Mexican food is supposed to be", leaving a 1 star review on one of the most beloved local taco trucks because:

I stopped going to Wawa because they've become completely shit and not at all worth it anymore. QuickCheck has better gas station food, and I feel like you actually get something for your money.

A Boron Hydra corvette, above one of the many Boron worlds. Parts of the ship unlit by sunlight glow a gentle blue iridescence, mimicing the sealife / aquatic nature of the species that builds these ships.

X:4 really is a pretty space game when you stop to take in the sights. I especially love the Boron (an aquatic race) ships, which is iridescent in the dark and has a very "organic" design.

Steep learning curve, but a really fun economics focused sim (entire game economy is simulated).

Seconding recc'ing X4 (with some caveats). I've played since X2 and the game is *incredible* with the sheer depth of what you can do in it. Easily one of my fav game series w entirely too many hours in it.

But: Fairly steep learning curve for newbies, less exploration focus(more economy / combat)

Elite is one of those games where I'm not even sure if it's worth the time investment to learn to play, because once you do the gameplay is a mile wide and an inch deep.

Like yourself, I played mostly for exploration. Had fun, it's neat, it CAN be pretty, but unfortunately it gets dull QUICK.

Watching my coworker (who has Sr. in their title) frantically using chatgpt for every issue and asking it how to fix it, is seriously frustrating to see.

Now I know why everything is taking forever and nothing works properly the first time. Ugh.

Corned beef hash is *amazing*, but it has to be cooked right imo otherwise it tastes and smells like dog food. EG: you *need* to char the fuck out of it. Tastes so damn good, especially with egg & hot sauce.
