Even tho I received a unit of blood a week ago & an iron infusion 6 days before that, my body still feels like a war zone. Skin is nonstop peeling off my palms & fingers from iron deficiency. A flight of stairs is still daunting & I’ll do almost anything to avoid it. So short of breath still.

I was a peds acute care NP who co-built our headache program. I didn’t see a lot of patients per day but I did procedures for headache as well. My primary patient population was adolescent headache. And…I frequently ran over an hour behind because that’s just how it goes. 🙃🫠

At my 9yo’s last well visit, we discussed ongoing management of her asthma and migraine. By the end, the physician was visibly frustrated that we didn’t get to the actual well visit stuff. The pressure on primary care by management is horrifying.

Bahaha mine was 1350 out of 1600 and I took them 5 times. I suck at standardized tests! I missed the cutoff for consideration for Penn State honors college by 50 points. They asked me to join later but without the perks and ++++work on my end! No thank you.

People who say "let's set aside our differences and celebrate America today" have no clue that these are not just differences of opinion. And that these differences do not cause real harms to their fellow Americans.

Pretty sure I took too much ondansetron because I kept throwing it back up so then would try again. Tried to take gabapentin 300mg just to see if I could sleep it off. Threw that back up, too.

I forget what time it was that I last had vomiting, but my head is starting to hurt a lot again w/dehydration & the weather. I was able to keep down water for part of last night. I feel like every single muscle in my body was hit by a baseball bat.

My insurance stopped covering Zepbound and will only cover Wegovy. 2 nights ago, I did the 1st Wegovy dose conversion injection and then vomited for about 20 straight hours starting at 5am yesterday. I tried to keep down toast. Couldn't even do that. Or gatorade. My head hurt so badly I was in tears

My oldest, who is now 12, talks about the HPV vax like it’s a tetanus shot, pertussis vaccine or whatever. Nothing to make of it. This generation of kids is gonna be alright. I know it! When it 1st came out, I couldn’t get it bc I’d be above the approved age for shot 3 & would have to pay OOP.

11yo & 8yo are trying to learn to crochet with Woobles. 8yo’s friend taught her basic crochet yesterday. I was on MS Contin for 3 years. While it was not easy to get off of it, I did it. I was on it for severe chronic headache. It really helped & I was more functional, but that was never my long term plan! I was tolerant & dependent & experienced withdrawal, but I was never addicted to it. *sigh*

Once precautions were dropped in school, my youngest got COVID in her COVID dumpster fire kindergarten in 4/2022. I got it from her. I ended up in Hosp observation for compensated hypercapneic respiratory failure. Yup. I raise my kids & I was bed sharing w/my youngest at the time… 2/2

There are number of politicians & contrarians who like to go on about how kids don’t need the vaccine. Do they really think that kids raise themselves on an island? All of my COVID infections except for 1 came from my kids who got it at school. 1/

I wish this article had more details about how many cases are impacted by this. At CHOP, I had a couple of 19+ patients have TOPS surgery but not at Penn. Our gender affirming care clinic used supportive psychotherapy and hormonal treatments as indicated. This article only talks about psych vs surg

My 11yo already has strong opinions, but my 8yo wants us together no matter what. I think we have to get past this developmental stage. There are definitely ups & downs but it doesn’t change the fundamental differences.

We argued all the way to the car. Then the car to the parking spot at the condo. Then the car to the elevator. Then the elevator to inside the condo. He was washing dishes & got super mad over something I said. He flung the knife down in the sink but it ricocheted right by his head & hit wall. 3/
