It's not over. He agreed to a ceasefire *if Iran opens the strait*. No mention of Israel also doing a ceasefire. Iran hasn't agreed, because a rational state would probably decline to be bombed by Israel for 2 weeks while giving up their leverage over the Strait under threat.

The anger is justified, yes. And the misdirection of that anger has practical consequences. I've watched it kill activism groups and undermine movements.
So it's the part I'm focusing on. That is not to take away from the fact that the anger is very real and justified.
You're right. A healthy dose of empathy would go a long way for everyone.
Honestly, my organizer brain is also just frustrated that the anger is (in my view) being wasted here rather than channeled into action elsewhere.
And generally the "circular firing squad" effects of misdirected anger.

At the same time, I put the onus on the person replying to wait on wishing harm to someone until they're *certain* of their interpretation.
The responsibility lies with the person assuming bad faith to prove why bad faith exists.

The horrific brutality of US prisons has always been with us. It's a structural feature, not a "bad apple" issue. I work for ICE (and prison) abolition; have for a long time. It's important to recognize that the bloodlust didn't start with ICE. ICE just made it more visible to more folks. #ICEout

Iran formalizes real power over the Strait/world oil supply, drives wedge between US/Israel.
Guessing the rest of any deal would look a lot like the JCPOA.
What's funny is some version of this seems like the most likely outcome if this ends anytime soon.
Iran keeps control of the Strait (and the implied threat of the ability to cut off the oil supply whenever). They pay the US/Trump some share of revenue.
