It's that time of year again. The site remains stable with all of its archival material! I'm in a cert program for industrial maintenance, hoping to secure apprentice hours for an eventual journeyperson credential. But I've been unemployed for a year, and my 2025 income was about $3,000 gross.

The "private prisons" line many people use is well-intended but misleading. For-profit prisons incarcerate less than 10% of the prison population. The problem isn't for-profit prisons... it's the American institution of prison altogether.

First group of migrants deported from the US under recent third country deportation with DRC have now been forcibly shipped off to Kinshasa. Deportees are originally from Colombia, Peru, Ecuador.
This deportation agreement follows a partnership granting US preferential access to Congo's minerals.
Unhappy to report the phishing one is quickly becoming a real problem now. Why go to the trouble of social engineering when people will just give up their ID, financial info, biometrics, etc. to an AV portal? There's no standards so how can you differentiate a fake one from a real one?

Total dismantlement of the USA as a political entity would be a just and *minimal* demand to redress the harms that have *already* been done. You understand that, right?
this is why there’s been mass revolt and opposition to data centers being built in communities. it is genuinely a health hazard to live this close to something emitting this much sound. these need to stop being built

on the east coast here we used to all play the video game in computer class constantly (+name the characters after our friends/enemies/teachers & cheerfully inform each other in real time when/how we all died) but I think we only briefly learned about it in history class like once
