Fastly is doubling-down on developer control & code efficiency.
We’ve removed the “duration” meter from Compute billing, moving strictly to vCPU milliseconds & request. This means your optimized code now directly lowers your bill.

What does #WebAssembly look like in production?
At Wasm I/O 2026, Erik Rose shared how Fastly is using the component model to boost performance, strengthen security, & support multiple languages at the edge.

Impossible to disagree with a single word that Ben Rhodes (Obama era NSC official) is saying here:
See I am not good at following instructions

15 years of building a better internet.
Thank you to our customers, partners, investors, and Fastlyans around the world who’ve helped us innovate, scale, and secure what’s next.
Here’s to the future. 🚀 #Anniversary
The web is run by a network of wonderful humans. You meet such great folks on every open source or open networks event you go. If you have the chance, do go. If it is hard for you to travel, and you can't find a local meetup, do try to organize one. IRL networking is crucial for a healthy network.
Meanwhile bike fuel prices have not changed at Costco.
A handy new text manipulation command is landing on stable this Zednesday thanks to tiagolobao: `editor: align selections`
Still a work in progress, but I've published the first draft of a new chapter on "Using Git with coding agents" simonwillison.net/guides/agent...

Nowruz Mubarak to all Iranian Americans who call New York City home!
It was an honor to celebrate Charshanbeh Soori. Nowruz is typically a time of good feeling, but this year is different. I continue to stand in opposition to this war, and I wish joy for all Iranians observing this special holiday.

This was a fun thing working on glitch, when we’d have a big phishing/hacking event (or even just unexplainable load) we’d have to spend 3-5x more to investigate making it feel even more high risk
The ability to CRUD the webhooks (and their parsing config).
But my general ask is to be able to manage ~everything (within reason of course) via the API, so that I can define it all in my codebase.
Thank you for replying 🙏
CloudWatch charges you $0.50/GB to ingest logs, $0.03/GB/month to store them, and $0.005/GB every time you search them.
During an incident, your query volume spikes and so does your bill.
I was already a fan of Ryan Coogler's films. From the Personal Life section of his Wikipedia page:
"Coogler has worked since age 21 as a counselor with incarcerated youth at San Francisco's Juvenile Hall, following in the footsteps of his father, who has long shared the same occupation."
Wow.
Haha yeah, I have no idea who this is. All the metadata comes directly from the KDFC website. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
(Fwiw, music industry metadata is notoriously… not so great, and for classical, it's way worse)
Thank you for making this! Now I can deprecate my webhooks-transformer thing 😂
Any chance you’ll add webhooks config to the Pushover API?

It is so, so good. Every time I use it, I want to thank the folks who worked on it.
Wrote up how I built an AI gateway on @fastly.com Compute. One endpoint, any model, routing decisions made at the edge. Bring your own keys and provider relationships. The gateway handles where each request goes, failover, and policy.

Seeing 50 and 60-year-old HN devs share how Claude Code reignited their passion for building software and solving problems over the framework rat race is exactly how I feel.
I haven’t felt this energized in years.
Detractors argue AI removes the craft and familiarity with implementation details.
