Hoping this encourages people to think about making it permanent.

Reminds me of the time when I went to a comedy show, and the comic asked โwhatโs something that really sucks about Seattle?โ Someone said โtoo much graffitiโ and the entire audience simultaneously laughed at the guy, almost kicking him out
The Tesla blocking the crosswalk in front of the mayor is a bit on the nose
Wasn't there a big "defense" contractor (war contractor) summit in downtown this weekend? Might be leaving after that.
MORE space for cars? What percentage of this road is allocated to drivers instead of literally everybody else???
This last summer, they just added some new ones at 2nd and Mercer (North entrance to Seattle Center).
Need this in every neighborhood in Seattle.
Ballard Ave needs to be next.
Hundreds, maybe even thousands of people would still be alive.
The number of redditors that would downvote this is going to be very telling.
Itโs like how I got absolutely obliterated when I said common sense gun control was still a good thing, following the Pretti/Good killings.
We still need your work. Now more than ever.
I struggle with this. Where to even start?
I've been thinking of a project that surfaces this easily. Shows you SDOT projects around the city, and pulls data for when the next meeting/milestone is to participate. Can also post suggestions for improvements (e.g. new crosswalk!)
Would ppl like this?
"Raised" is doing a lot of work here. I'd call this "curbless." There's virtually no vertical component here, so cars don't know to slow down.
Meanwhile, we have massive bumps going up floating bus islands (which are good! just should be applied to cars too)
Has anyone seen them in the same room together? ๐
North Ballard/crown hill area is a spectacular grid for this kind of project.
Reddit having a field day with victim blaming rn

Thanks for making a survey. I really hope we can get back to how it was when I was a kidโwalking to the king dome without worrying if a car was going to run me over. This street should be closed to all car traffic completely. Itโs unnecessary.

Ebikes dont kill people.
Cars literally kill HUNDREDS of americans PER DAY.
Report on the real issue, NYT
โWe should think more about the homelessness crisis [rather than build this apartment complex].โ
Lmao do they hear themselves?
I dunno, Idaho?
Maybe if you dont care about your rights...
Wide lanes, no traffic control, and painted bike lanes frequently used as parking by idiots.
Dude pulled a gun on me once because i tried to go around a car parked in the bike lane. Good thing he was going 50 mph in the 25 and wouldnโt have been able to shoot me.
Surprising to see S Seattle highlighted here, but then you realize this is about unmarried same sex roommates, not necessarily couples. Hence the concentration at UW
Meanwhile, when people actively steal the "Safe Street / Closed Street" signs, SDOT *never* replaces them.
To say its a one way street is too good of an analogy
Very good. This is a pretty typical spot for SPD to park to get donuts. Not even kidding. Hope this provides at least some deterrance
Bummed I missed it -- I signed up but got very sick just in time! Will there be more of these in the future?
Its just so so ironic that SDOT absolutely hears our cries for raised crosswalks but then only applies them to bike lanes, and not to...you know... the problem lanes.
Too high of an income to qualify as low income, too low income to afford a $400 class, but plenty of money to purchase a car and gas.
Totally checks out. Not BS at all
Seattle PD does not protect our community. They terrorize marginalized people, park illegally in our bike lanes and on our sidewalks, run red lights when not on an emergency, and do not enforce *actual* dangerous behaviors like dangerous driving.
Great example of why flex posts and paint are bullshit
