A roadmap is needed to ensure Ireland can fulfil national, EU and international legal obligations and protect communities, especially those most at risk, from climate harm.
The Government must deliver fast and fair climate action that reduces emissions and protects communities from climate change.
A first step to ensuring this is to publish and implement the Climate Action Plan 2026.
This annual review from the CCAC is a stark synopsis of the harmful impact climate change has on people & nature in Ireland.
The devastating impacts extreme weather events like Storm Éowyn and Storm Chandra had on homes, livelihoods, health services & water supply cannot be repeated.

Our CEO Aoife Kelly-Desmond writes to the @irishtimes.com about how proposed changes to judicial review will have serious consequences if implemented, effectively shutting the door on vulnerable people seeking justice.

In 1 case, our client, a survivor of domestic violence, had to take a Judicial Review in order to secure safe housing for her and her child, after decisions left her unable to access supports.
Weakening access to judicial review risks shutting the door on cases like this, with serious consequences.
Thanks to @irishexaminer.bsky.social for highlighting CLM's concerns on the Civil Reform Bill RE proposed changes to Judicial Review.
Judicial review is a vital last resort for people to challenge decisions, protect their rights & hold the State to account.
